  • Okay, I give up.
I don't think I can write a successful LitRPG story for my client.
I think I'm going to say "no, thank you" and say goodbye to $250. :s_eek: :cry::cry:
I just cannot wrap my head around how someone gets "implanted" into a D&D campaign!
And wouldn't that be isekai anyway? He doesn't want isekai.
So how do you get into a D&D game if you're not isekai'd!?

but there doesn't HAVE to be a leveling system, which is my idea.
The thrill of a game like "Uncharted", for example, wasn't about leveling; it was about getting through the game to the end goal.
You only really see the leveling mania in RPGs.
So, is there something else someone could "play" for besides levels? I think there is and I intend to show that with my story. *^^*

Yes, yes, you'd play for the story, but you're writing LitRPG so you're still writing the numbers. If you didn't want to write numbers, you don't write LitRPG. But since you're being paid to write LitRPG, you're writing numbers.

Already started it, about 1,000 words in.
    I have a plan. *^^*
I'm about to turn the "isekai" world just a little bit topsy-turvy.
Practically salivating waiting for the weekend to go see "Weapons". Zach Cregger is becoming a new horror movie genius.
Not bad for the founding member of "The Whitest Kids U Know". *^^*

Jordan Peele also did some pretty cool horror movies.

I wonder... some of the people I worked with who tells the best horror stories had a background in comedy... I wonder if there is a connection...

That could explain a lot. Newcomers like Ari Aster (I still consider "Hereditary" one of the Top Ten scariest of all time), and Ti West ("X" and "Pearl") also did a few stints into comedy before getting their horror on. *^^* I'd like to see what Ti does next. Looks like Ari Aster is going to try drama again with "Eddington". I saw the trailer. Meh.
Watching SUVs on the roads lately and how many there are now.
Makes me feel like Matthew Bennell in 1978's "Invasion of the Body Snatchers".
I have started writing my first commissioned LitRPG.
I'm extremely nervous about it, but he's a steady client, and he's very patient with me. ?
I know I can do this. Luckily, I'm able to create a fictitious game, so I don't have to follow any normal rules.
I'm gathering up a whole slew of TF short stories here to include in a whole new book I'm releasing called "Shifters". Featuring short oftentimes horrific tales of transformation, body horror, graphic violence, hypnosis, trances, magic and mayhem. if you're intrigued by these, this is definitely going to be your cup of tea, TF-lovers! ???
I swear to the gods, if I had a dime for every time I saw a book on this site that started "I found myself in (insert game scenario here)", I could literally buy a pizza - and not one of those single-topping with cheese deals, I'm talking loaded supreme mega-sized. ?

Actually, if science played more of a role in these books, I could get into them more.
There is no science. There is only magic spaghet code and toothbrushes with 5000 faces.

Instructions unclear, faceplanted in spaghetti painted in 5000 shades of codeine magic.
    Fly update:
Boiling water down the drains is working. Sprayed the windows outside with heavy-duty Raid (Sorry, Mother Nature). Only seeing about 10-20 this morning whereas we were seeing close to 100 a day. WE WILL WIN THIS WAR.

Just sit out some honey, and they will get stuck, even if you don't put any hazardous chemicals in it. I prefer to mix borax, a readily available toxic substance, into it, so that if they escape after getting stuck in it while trying to eat it, they will still die within 15 minutes.

Actually, a good measure is honey and some Dawn dish soap. I mentioned that before. the honey attracts them but the dish soap disturbs the surface of the honey, and drowns them instantly. Inhumane but, meh, I'm past having mercy.

Ugh! Has anyone else had a terrible fly issue this summer? I mean really tiny flies; we've tried boiling water down the drains, bleach, insecticides, and they just keep coming. It's like they're going to war with us.
I've had several inbox letters today from people saying they love my work and it's really good and singing my praises, and then I notice they just made the accounts yesterday or today and so they're all bots. Ugh.
If you're still having trouble with your books not appearing in searches or "Updated" lists, delete your book covers and see if that does the trick. It helped mine. I needed administrative assistance to do it, but I think that might be the key to the issue right now. The current bot that screens books is having a problem with titles. Good luck! ?
This is very irresponsible for a site that's supposed to be one of the best in catering to writers all over the world and give them a special place to present their hard work.
