Ah, for that, Tony did say he tried entrusting stuff to people before, but he ended up doing it all himself. Kinda betrayed.

Also, he never expected SH would be popular.

Still not an excuse for the problems of the site, but yeah, I'm just a SouthEast Asian pansy.

Yeah, I read about that too. Something to do with 52 Stairs Studio, which owned SH from the beginning and, through research, I learned has been permanently closed. There was a plan in place to monetize everything also, so that everyone posting here could earn, which I guess failed. That would have certainly been a game-changer.

With the rush of subpar works and rain of brain-dead fanfics (I mean the ones that only use known settings for bait), it'll only end up being abused, the monetization thing.

I don't know why, my guess SH is a passion project. He doesn't take any money from us, so we kind of can't expect a 'professional' business-like model as in RR or WN in return. It's free to post here and advertise, all the functions are free, but the price for that is that there aren't any mods here. And problems can take a long time to resolve.

Not to mention, people used to get along here, though there were a few hiccups.

Moderation is not really necessary that much.

I think folks get along alright for the most part. *^^*
But it is a little frightening. We're sitting ducks now if anyone wants to be malicious.

Forums have separate moderators, it's main site problems that are the issue.

Where did it ever get the label of being "one of the best"?
It's always been weird and quirky, but so little has changed since the beginning in December 2018.
That said, I think there are some serious changes that do need to happen in the near future.
RepresentingWrath

I won't say little has changed in terms of reader base. It definetely shifted from how it was even back in 2020. As for technical aspects, you are correct.

I think it is rated among the top 5 from what I can tell.

There isn't much competition to begin with. WN, RR, Wattpad I think? All are way bigger, maybe there is fourth one I forgot? SH is fourth\fifth. And then there is everything else.

WN is slowly falling out of favor with writers and readers alike. Tapas is also becoming pretty popular.
Representing_Tromba
Representing_Tromba
I would rank it personally as,
1. RR
2. Wattpad
3. Webnovel
4. SH
5. Tapas

But I may be a little biased in this. Wattpad is big but feels stagnant in its growth like how fanfiction.net has felt for years.

AO3, that's the one I forgot.

I want to apologize.
I meant to delete this.
I received an email back from the admin. It seems the bot has been acting weird with covers, even though they are SFW and legitimate. I apologize to everyone. If you're still having troubles, delete your current book covers. they did that and everything is visible now.

Ao3 is big but has a weird barrier to entry.

AO3 is for fanfics only I think?

Also, good that you finally got an answer.

Okay, true, I didn't factor in the readers, or the authors.
The people have changed, for sure.

I've noticed a lot of stories here that revolve around an isekai anime setting too. I mean, I'm happy that there's so much talent in that aspect, but I aim to inject a little more into Scribble Hub that that. I could probably write isekai, don't get me wrong - but why should I, when I'm very successful with what I already do? *^^*
