Is it at all possible the moderation team permitted your story without properly looking at your degenerate cover and then shadow banned it after realizing their mistake?
No, there's nothing wrong with my book covers.
But go ahead and assume what you like and make a total ass out of yourself in front of the world.
I don't mind.
@LeilaniOtter I get what you mean, but @SirContro (minus the 'degenerate' label) might have a point.
I mean, I looked into your covers, and while I find nothing that should violate TOS, it can also cause some problems. I experienced it before; uploaded a cover similar to yours and it was still blocked, with the explanation saying it's 'NSFW'.
Yes, I had cover warnings and had to change them, so I did, and I received a notice that the covers were all accepted.
So, I really don't see how my covers are an issue.
Hmm...Tony can shed light for that, I guess. Tis pretty weird, really. I remember @RepresentingWrath also noticed changes in main page, mainly stories with covers showing less skin.
And what about earlier?
"Luana" appeared on a main search result about 6 hours ago, and now it doesn't...?
Whoever heard of a book title not appearing on a search result, then about 8 hours later appearing, and then 6 hours later, not?
That doesn't sound a little "personal" to you?
I know there has been a ton of bot issues over the past month so that may play into it. I don't know about shadowbanning as your covers seem fine and the algorithm is usually good about this.
NGL, tis will piss me off, but I try not to be annoyed for my own health.
Tis similar to forum threads I will see hours ago, then come back moments later to find it gone and the older threads up in the main site again. What's really weird is that those threads are normal ones. I thought it's SH having bugs coz...
Tbh, the bots on shf have been more than I have seen in years so I could see why some parts of the main site have been getting changed left and right to acclimate to it.
@Representing_Tromba prolly coz the big T has his hands full with NU and SH, aside from normal stuff irl. Hence, he needs to delegate work, but well, he's had his share of problems dealing with people he counted on.
I just really feel left out.
My only course of action I'm allowed now is to simply post in the forum and gain a following that way.
And this isn't an isolated incident. There's lot of authors in the same boat here.
So, if this isn't settled soon, maybe Scribble Hub has a lot less authors here.
I wonder what their advertisers would say to that.
^ I understand your sentiments. And tbh, I'm just posting here for posterity's sake, not really trying to gain followers. Hell, I won't even drop by the 'Create' section anymore. lol
The main problem is, Tony is the sole administrator\moderator and he is currently offline. More than that, this is the first time in 5 years that it has happened. I don't know what or why happened. Maybe he is working on that UK thing? Maybe it's vacation? I don't know. It's not that Tony doesn't want to address it all or ignores you specifically.
About SH being the best to catering to authors, it's the same as RR. Once upon a time RR was a site that had only great stories there, and there were no toxicicty, and so on. SH changed a lot in recent years. Some take it as positive changes, some not. Lastly, it is a lot smaller than most 'big' writing sites.
Well, as I mentioned, he was last seen on Novelupdate Saturday; that's almost a week ago. I don't know what's going on here, but I'm very curious why there's never been any kind of moderation/administration team put in place here. Even our comic websites, with not that much traffic, have fail-safe technicians and programmers on standby.
I said this before, if you're running a popular, multi-user platform, it's now a business. Your normal life is gone. You are now in the entertainment business and take it from me, I know how that goes. I wish we'd never gotten into comics sometimes, because now we're stuck in entertainment mode. ?
