    Well, my second FMC, Detective Clara, also remains kind, empathetic, and concerned about the suffering of others, even though she lives in a morally corrupt world. Her goal isn't to win... but to remain human. Hold on to your heart wherever you are... and you'll live as a human being.

    Finally, after more than 7 months, my fiction has gained 2 organic ratings (average 4.5) on RR.

    Well, a small number but valuable considering a subversive fiction [Post-Apocalyptic Motherhood Dark Fantasy] especially if we just wait and don't rely on review swaps to increase the rating.

    By the way, it only increased by 1 rating but my fiction's rank rose from 40k to 33k. A simple achievement worth being grateful for.

    If you want to gauge the potential for reader engagement with your fiction, put yourself in the reader's shoes, not the author's.

    Not all readers are authors, and even if they are, it's only a small percentage.

    A fundamental authorial mistake is assuming that a work will be popular simply because it's well-written.

    You could read what you wrote out loud. That sometimes helps me catch where breaks in a sentence to breathe are needed too. :sweat_smile:

    Well, since vol 2 is finished, now I will narrate Alice (Chivalry Justice) against Marry (Bloody Justice).

    They both meet through Detective Clara (Conscience Justice) in vol 3.

    Caelan felt her hair grow wet.

    “Sometimes rain falls inside the house, honey. Mama will hug Caelan.”

    “Mommy is the best in the whole world."

    Tears slipped through her lashes.

    Finally... after days of burnout... the epilogue of volume 2 is finally finished. It's a bittersweet ending, with no winners, only wounds. However, at least there's still a small hope amidst the darkness.

    The epilogue is titled Vol 2 Chapter 94: "Between Mist, Conscience, and Roses – Three Faces of Women Gazing at One Another."

    you write in what is clearly this modern webnovel style. short chapters. a single direct sentence though well formed can pass for a paragraph. two sentences, more then enough. It was shocking to me to first encounter this WN style I call it, but I got used to seeing it.

    Well, I'm just adapting to the platform. If this writing style is used for a paperback book, then customers might get upset because the pages are filled with blank lines instead of content. Lol

    you would have to ask to read a chapter of mine. and i write in what i think of as "a paperback I would have bought and read" style, IE trad pub. And yes, I am aware most webnovel fans simply detest it. disclaimer thus delivered. so don't feel obligated.

    When I was little, I used to get angry with my mother just because she asked me not to do this or that.

    When I grew older, I realized my mother was angry because she truly cared for and loved me.

    And now... when I see a little child throwing a tantrum because his mother scolded him, I just smile from afar.

    As for me, I look at them for straight 2-3 seconds pondering how I would beat the living hell out of them the moment they cursed their parent, then I remember I'm an education major and just say to myself that it's a good thing my professors can't read minds

    I don't understand why an author would choose not to continue a series even though it already has thousands of readers and instead choose to publish a rewrite with only a few new readers.

    I mean, you can rewrite the old series, instead of releasing a rewrite in a new one.

    Writing can be improved, but lost reader trust is difficult to restore and regain it.

    I'm sorry, I don't mean to offend anyone here. I just saw an author make an announcement in an older version of a series, telling readers to read the new version after leaving the series without a word for more a year.

    I mean, if you're still hoping for your old readers, you better keep their trust. If you don't care about your readers, it's perfectly fine to not make an announcement.

    I am not offended. I understand the reader perspective, but free readers are the most entitled sometimes. I get more complaints on free stories than on paid stories. I am not talking about you specifically, but sometimes I wanna tell free readers to go fuck themselves.

    As a reader, I would first look for a complete series. If I choose to take a risk on an ongoing one, that is on me, and I should have realistic expectations.

    You don't need to delete your account if the information you share is only public.

    And only one of my social media accounts which was deleted was Telegram... not because I wanted to delete it. However, my account expired after a year of not being opened.

    * I was quite sad because many of my friends' profiles were stored there.

    Dare to say that kindness and sincerity sometimes cannot save anyone (rejecting talk no jutsu).

    I understand that escapism is one of the functions of fiction. I'd say 90% of popular fiction is escapist fiction.

    However, that's not the only function of fiction. And my artistic choices are perhaps a minority among mainstream authors... choosing narrative honesty—writing narratives that are human, even if painful.

    Because I want fiction to be a medium for learning to be human, not just for entertainment.

    definitely. its right in my blurb/synopsis. "nothing and no one is going to come out of this unscathed"
