For me it's chapters that are unnumbered, whenever I see chapters having only a title and no number i'm just thinking 'bruh just number the chapters so it's easier to remember where I left off.'

Not at all, if you find a culture interesting, take your time to research about it and decide to write a novel related to that culture, nothing wrong with that. I mean people here literally copy the style of JP novels cause they like em.(ex: using -san and -sama in an English novel)
