    Long Silver-haired Anime Waifus

Wait until you figure out she uses fire magic that makes the temperature drop to freezing. And speaking of tenshi The waifu is on top left, btw. Amatsuka Uto is a vtuber if you didn't know. And while I don't watch vtubers much anymore, I really enjoyed watching her clips earlier in the year...

Writing Poem chants, is this a good idea?

I don't think I should do a flashback per phrase since that defeats the purpose of shortening it into a poem, I cut out the actions he does and the effects of the spell on the landscape while casting the spell for the sake of the forum btw, so the scene would be far longer and way more detailed.

Writing Poem chants, is this a good idea?

So in my story I have something called legendary magic, it's basically the Magnum opus of extremely powerful archmages. Since it's basically a culmination of their lives' work, I thought it would be nice for the chant to be a poem that reflects on their life, personality, goals, experience...

    Why do we write?

Bruh reading this full thread everyone has such detailed answers and here am I. Really though, the whole reason I started writing was out of spite, it didn't help that the first webnovels I read were Xianxias and Wattpad fics. Soon I got tired of looking for good shit to read and I wanted to...

    Why do we write?

I write out of spite, because some plots didn't go the way I wanted them to.

    Tales from the Reaper Re-Chapter

I recommend watching Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash if you want to write a "realistic" Isekai type of chapter. The anime doesn't focus too much on suffering, it's just a bunch of kids who got isekai'd and are trying to make a living through adventuring. Shameless plug here btw, my story has a...

I love Mary Sue/Gary Stu protagonist!

Eh, I guess so, I mean I suck at detecting social cues and doing puzzles irl, so I don't think writing intelligent characters would directly translate to irl EQ/IQ. It's kinda like how historians can accurately judge the mistakes of intelligent and talented generals, hindsight is 50/50 after...

I love Mary Sue/Gary Stu protagonist!

Well, that's just a part of the execution. I can't say how exactly to develop such as scene because it would be different in every novel. I mean there could be a hundred different situations where the MC could find out such as the villain being one of the patrons that give good tips, hence the...

I love Mary Sue/Gary Stu protagonist!

I don't mean the MC plucking facts out of thin air. I mean that the MC and antagonist have "pieces" that they can play and hidden "pieces" they want to find. It's like a game of chess, the MC could bait the enemy in a way that isn't obvious so they lose an important piece. As a writer, you...

    My 10+ Rule of Writing

I find the quality of my work satisfactory after one round of edits, at least for me. I just haven't found enough time or will to reedit my story when I'm writing the drafts of like 3 other ones. Yeah, I tend to be aware of how the journey ends but not how to get there. I think it's best to...

I love Mary Sue/Gary Stu protagonist!

Actually, it's quite easy to make characters appear smart when the entire game board is basically laid out by you. Whether it's pulled off correctly, I can't say.

    Zirrboy's Questionaire

When the MC or main cast physically or emotionally suffer, a lot. big reason why I still haven't watched season 2 of re:Zero It ain't prevalent yet for my current story but seeing my plans for later chapters... It gets pretty tough.

    My 10+ Rule of Writing

It takes me hours to write and only 10-30 minutes to edit, ow. This is actually very important, I added a character out of impulse and now they don't contribute to the story at all so I'm tempted to kill them off to introduce the next arc.

What tiny detail in stories irritates you?

I think it's because at this point isekai has become a genre where everyone expects the protagonist to be OP, for example friend of mine explicitly looks for anime where the MC is OP. But I wholeheartedly agree that if you want to inform readers your MC isn't OP, hint at it in the summary in a...

I’m looking for some action packed fantasy novels.

When I looked at the title I thought I could finally do a shameless plug... but then the female lead.. oof. Well, there technically is a female in the main cast, and she does have some GL romance subplot(kinda) going on chapter 18, so it might work out? The story focuses on multiple characters...

How do you plan your story?

I write whatever comes to mind and hope something good comes out of it. The only thing I plan is the beginning, climax and ending.

I love Mary Sue/Gary Stu protagonist!

The real Mary Sue in SAO is Yuuki lol. Kirito is just an action protagonist with OP plot armor and bs luck.

I love Mary Sue/Gary Stu protagonist!

I only hate a Mary/Gary Sue if the author portrays them as the 'best' and all the characters are just a one-dimensional background. Like my character is pretty much a Gary Sue in terms of power and skills, but I make sure the other characters still have their own flaws and personalities that the...
