I do happen to know someone, and she gives me an awesome price for my book covers considering what professional artists tend to charge. And even then, there are times I just can't spare that much money.

I guarantee that if someone had spun a story about how stock images were stealing jobs from artists and photographers because people could just copy them off the internet for free, people would have been just as outraged by that as they are by AI.

Because our stories are free. Cover art is not. Demanding that we give you money for something we're not being paid for is pure entitlement. End of story.
