  • I am now officially stalking, erm... *following*, eldoria.
eldoria. I only just joined and barely started posting on the forums, and I saw your name several times already. what's site etiquette here, I have no idea. am i supposed to ask your permission to follow you, or what. also, you seem kind of reserved and I'm definitely eccentric and irreverent. I might not be your cup of tea. that's why I ask first.

eldoria: Personally, I respect everyone here, regardless of their preferences.
oh boy. Yeah, I suspected that. the unspoiled sweetness will be refreshing after the last ten years spent on perhaps the darkest corner of the internet. eldoria? I used to be like you when I was little. then the world had its way with me.

I could never take you where I spent the last ten internet years, eldoria.
They would light you up and piss you out.

When I was little, I used to get angry with my mother just because she asked me not to do this or that.

When I grew older, I realized my mother was angry because she truly cared for and loved me.

And now... when I see a little child throwing a tantrum because his mother scolded him, I just smile from afar.

As for me, I look at them for straight 2-3 seconds pondering how I would beat the living hell out of them the moment they cursed their parent, then I remember I'm an education major and just say to myself that it's a good thing my professors can't read minds

I still get mad sometimes. But then I realize this is what made me what I am today. Otherwise, I might have become a Karen and said, "Hey sir, I guess your wall hit my car. Yes, yes, look at that. Your wall is fine but my car is not."
I don't understand why an author would choose not to continue a series even though it already has thousands of readers and instead choose to publish a rewrite with only a few new readers.

I mean, you can rewrite the old series, instead of releasing a rewrite in a new one.

Writing can be improved, but lost reader trust is difficult to restore and regain it.

I'm sorry, I don't mean to offend anyone here. I just saw an author make an announcement in an older version of a series, telling readers to read the new version after leaving the series without a word for more a year.

I mean, if you're still hoping for your old readers, you better keep their trust. If you don't care about your readers, it's perfectly fine to not make an announcement.

I am not offended. I understand the reader perspective, but free readers are the most entitled sometimes. I get more complaints on free stories than on paid stories. I am not talking about you specifically, but sometimes I wanna tell free readers to go fuck themselves.

As a reader, I would first look for a complete series. If I choose to take a risk on an ongoing one, that is on me, and I should have realistic expectations.
tell free readers to go fuck themselves.
That one hope a smut author never admits aloud
You don't need to delete your account if the information you share is only public.

And only one of my social media accounts which was deleted was Telegram... not because I wanted to delete it. However, my account expired after a year of not being opened.

    * I was quite sad because many of my friends' profiles were stored there.
Have any authors here ever created an ending arc where everyone loses (protagonist, antagonist, and supporting characters) or suffers from the consequences of their actions?

Dare to say that kindness and sincerity sometimes cannot save anyone (rejecting talk no jutsu).

More reason we read fiction, escape from cruel reality.

I understand that escapism is one of the functions of fiction. I'd say 90% of popular fiction is escapist fiction.

However, that's not the only function of fiction. And my artistic choices are perhaps a minority among mainstream authors... choosing narrative honesty—writing narratives that are human, even if painful.

Because I want fiction to be a medium for learning to be human, not just for entertainment.

    my response:
definitely. its right in my blurb/synopsis. "nothing and no one is going to come out of this unscathed"

    I was inspired by masterpieces...
If One Piece is a legendary treasure,
And Death Note is a literal book of death,
What gifts in this fiction might be?

Clara, a young detective known for her unwavering conscience in the face of power, has brought corrupt nobles, rapists, and murderers to justice. The people praise her as the voice of society.

But behind the applause, a figure has emerged who has shaken the kingdom—the Blood Rose Princess, a serial killer who has crucified nobles with roses and blood. She left a bloody message:

"When the law is dead, I will be the law. Blood for blood."

Dragged by her conscience, Clara tries to catch that serial killer, but catching her uncovers the darkest secrets the world has hidden.

In the bitter truth, gifts come in the most honest form. Because not all justice is meant to be black and white... and justice sometimes also dances with roses and blood.
I just learned that broiler chickens are one of humanity's greatest food revolutions for global animal protein needs.

Efficient in production, affordable for customers, and the market is global. Without broiler chickens, we probably wouldn't be eating crispy fried chicken while watching YT.

Thanks to the innovators who have made it possible for me to eat crispy chicken almost every week.
Sometimes I admire authors who truly write fiction as a hobby. I've seen these authors consistently post hundreds of chapters with a total of over half a million words. Yet, they don't care about engagement at all, even if they only get around 1k views after more than half a year.

I don't know when I will continue it...
This is my first josei fiction that explores the meaning of true love through the test of love: Sleeping Prince.
Remember, 100 chapters of total 100k words are generally more appealing to casual readers than 33 chapters of total 100k words. A simple psychological trick that might help you increase the visibility of your fiction.

Not just psychological but it’s also a cunning way to get more views. 33 clicks vs 100 clicks. Pick your poison.

I used to wonder why Chinese web novels had such short chapters, but they can have thousands of chapters. Now I know why...

    PancakesWitch
Then the problem is in making 1000 word chapters appealing, forcing yourself to make very resumed and short plots. Also a hook for a novel first few chapters being limited to 1000 words per chapter is just impossible.
Wow... amazing. There are still long chapters, averaging 17k words per chapter, using giant paragraphs, as if you were reading a paper book. The author and the readers both have incredible endurance. Kudos!

I don't like this practice in webnovels. It doesn't make sense. In a book, you can stop at a page number with a book mark. You cannot do that in a webnovel. People should stop thinking that webnovels are books. It would be annoying to freeze your place in a webnovel and impractical.

I used to do this and read this for fanfics… when I had no life (I still don’t)? don’t do it for original webnovels, guys.
Is calling someone who doesn't have a single hair on his head as bald in a public space (e.g., hi, bald) considered body shaming?
If, someday, you've been betrayed by someone you trusted (e.g., a family member, a partner, or even a friend), but the betrayal was for your own good (e.g., to save your life), and the method was immoral and destroyed your ideals and aspirations.

How do you deal with betrayal after you've been broken?

Can you forgive someone who betrayed you because that person cared too much about you?

Happened once. Stopped thinking it was a betrayal and instead think that person was never on my side all along so I can feel better.

I have *one* close friend that I trust above all others. A brother from another mother. even when I *think* he's doing something against me, I trust him. They... all thought he was joining in talking shit on me, what they were laughing they were gonna do. HE, joined in. So he could get the inside dirt and report it to me. So I could handle it. That, is trust. That, is loyalty. from both of us.
