The question is self exlanatory, who do you think is the best swordsman from fiction? Can be from games, movies, books, manga, even your own work, whatever you want really. The two limitations are, can't be real or pseudo historical person. Second limitation, they can't rely on mana, chakra, furyoku, qi, and other magic; this includes using magical swords that are strong as hell on their own. If you want to, you can also explain why do you think they are the best swordsman.

Huh, didn't know it. Thank you for enlightening me. Does it give him an advantage over other swordsman though?
Probably. He can clone himself 10,000 times that are equally as powerful as him.
Fuck you all, its Mugen from Samurai Champloo. I'll brook no disagreements.
I have fingers in my ears, screaming so I can't hear anyone say otherwise. Lalalalala!!!!
I would love to agree for style alone, but Mugen was defeated twice within the 26 episodes of the show at full strength by supposedly weaker swordsman.

This is one of his base abilities. Not mana, chakra, magic, qi, or any of the other things you listed. He can just do that. It is never explained in all of the stories about him. Even if he could not do that, he has Ultra Instinct, and can absorb any blow he receives.

Bruh. I thought out of all people on SHF you would be the last one to do this to me.

He only lost to Sara, the trident-wielding lady because he slipped in the mud. I mean, they WERE fighting next to a river bank right!!? Obviously.

He lost to Kagetogi Kariya, the "Hand of God" as he was called, because Kagetogi is whack and Mugen didn't want to sully himself with lameness. He pitied the poor fool. Pity you hear!!?

The first one shows he wasn't aware of his surroundings nor used them to his advantage against a blind woman, a basic swordsman requirement.

The second one shows he is honorable as a swordsman, so I will give him that. Though that doesn't prove he is a better swordsman, just a more honorable one.
Let's move on to Zoro then. Why do you think Zoro is the best? Why not Zorro?
I would love Zorro to be better, but Zoro is better on strength and speed alone.

Dugu Qiubai is technically from a setting with qi and stuff, but his swordsmanship techniques got learned by someone who couldn't use qi at the time and it still turned out to be a crazy power boost that kept him onpar with people who could. So the guy himself must have been really strong too. Not that he ever showed up in any stories in person...
