Oh! I added that to my list as a fun/light audible thing to listen to while I work! You recommend it?
It's funny and wholesome in the most backwards way I can imagine. Vainqueur only does anything to either increase his horde or stroke his ego, and he doesn't hide the fact that he looks down on everyone around him, but he also goes out of his way to make sure his minions are happy and taken care of. Happy minions are more likely to worship their master, after all.

NO SELF PROMOTION

NO SELF PROMOTION

*Cough cough*

I want to hear what the SH writers are reading. Novels, stories(SH or other sites), fan fictions, smut, the backs of shampoo bottles.

I am reading three things actively at the moment.

1. Forge of God|Novel
Sci Fi book about aliens destroying Earth and the end of the world. Almost done with this one. Well written, but kinda depressing
2. This Is How I Lived [A Post-Apocalyptic Diary] |SH
Journal of a a girl living through a zombie event. But she has a lot of personality, its a more "slice of life" style. Also, there seems to be a slowly unraveling mystery about the protag. Dont wanna spoil.
3. If You Can Hear This, Stop Listening|SH
Not many chapters of this yet. But its shaping up to be a really well written supernatural queer romance. I really like the radio supernatural theming too

Now, what are you reading? Remember...

Oh and I finished a book called Eternity Road. Takes place hundreds of years after the end of civilization. A group travels to retrieve lost knowledge at an ancient mythical library.

All the tech of our world(now dead) is like magic to them.
You want self promotion? I mean if you insist...

No but, obviously most readers have been reading the erotic fantasies of your pet. Weird, I know, but they are oddly endearing.

(Very slowly) A Tale of Two Cities, by Dickens. It's good, great character work. Hard on the poor brain meats though because the English is old and people used to write very differently back then.

Vainqueur: "MINION VICTOR! HOW CAN I MOVE MY ENTIRE HORDE ALL AT ONCE?"
Victor: "I can try to make a hot air balloon big enough to carry everything."
Vainqueur: (I HAVE THE SMARTEST MINIONS IN THE WORLD! I'M SO PROUD OF THEM FOR HAVING ME AS A MASTER!)

side note, but I'll never get tired of the audio effects the narrator uses for Vainqueur's voice. G O O D B Y E , E A R D R U M S ! ! !

I read this as a teen. Classic, and a book you should read. But not the easiest for a modern reader

Just wanna make sure, can I do self-promotion here? Thank you.

Anyway, right now mostly what I read is memoirs from war veteran soldier, for specific is currently around ww2 soldiers. Who I'm kidding, actually not recently, but it has been a long time and it's really influenced my writing style, tons of monolog than the dialogs.

Yeah, reading the story of military life in ongoing war is a quite of experience. There may be graphic or gruesome scenes but there is also raw humor from the soldiers as a means of coping. My favorite is in the book Tiger in the Mud by Otto Carius, telling how how unit leader used the unit's coffee water supply as a warm bath for himself, the unit members were initially annoyed but because they couldn't do anything they just insulted or mocked the leader as a joke behind his back for his silliness.

Reading George Orwell 1948 and Dostoievski the idiot
Scribblehub.com wise, finished vampire online but apparently the author disappeared, a shame.
Considering to read my dungeon life raise of the slave harem even though the rating is abysmal. 😅
