as a reader this has been horrible. u wanna ban "translations" alr no problem
This phrase is rather passive aggressive, especially after you mentioned that it isn't a problem to ban translations.
yes im trying to express my frustration for the middle finger u showed to ur readership. all i asked for was a simple prompt and a link if the issue was the fiction being a translation with almost no additional work since the research about the original should have brought up the link anyway, right? is this too much to ask for?
This is overtly condescending.
not sure why the quote doesnt show this was about the remark: selfproclaimed justice warrior.
what exactly is condescending about it? sry, if i dont get it but this just means. this is about reports of private ppl (selfproclaimed justice) they have no license to judge this and the warrior is an old term for ppl upholding the rule standards. in my eyes there s nothing conscending about it? is this a generation gap or something? imgine 40+ year olds enjoying fanfictions...how dare they...
from what i ve seen so far in this thread ppl are way to oversensitive here.
Both statements establish a conflict-based tone which implies you're upset and looking to make trouble, for good or ill.
upset yes, but does someone looking for trouble bring up actual arguments and give suggestions how it could have been done better? srsly...
"At least I'd expect" makes this an equally passive-aggressive statement. It would be better to begin with something like "myself, and other readers, would appreciate a proper prompt. [cont].
Furthermore, I'd suggest providing the actual thing that displeases you, so say something like "Going to a page and receiving a 404 error message leads to confusion and doesn't confirm whether or not it was a translation or if the author just removed it. A different message, such as 'this page was removed for violating translation rules' would have been appreciated"
this looks like something someone in the law departement would write. i m not. sry to disappoint. doesnt mean i m here to bash on u.
What this does is provide the problem for assessment and gives an actionable suggestion that may not be difficult to implement. This offsets the idea of you being upset/combative with being supportive/helpful.
no, i was upset and tried to express it, so u could get the idea that at least some ppl in ur readership are actually upset about how the responsible ppl went about this. doesnt mean i cant be supportive and give suggestions that would have been bette rin my pov
This statement is rather unclear. Again, it throws insults at the people enforcing the rules and sets you up as confrontational. My best guess, as mentioned earlier, is that you're suggesting a link to the original, untranslated work be provided. That burden would be unreasonable, but bringing it up in a peaceful, cooperative manner is better than being hostile.
idk what s unclear about it, a moderator made a thread how to identify translations (thumbs up to him for the work) which was rly a lot to read with lot s of links, u had the time to create a post like this i dont see how implementing my suggestion would have been any worse workload like. which is why assumed u went with the lazy option of doing exactly nothing and just removing the content without further info. as u can note i assumed here, so this is actually on me in hindsight and i agree this is a bit too agressive. but must understand that to me it looks like u didnt even want to think about how ur readership is effected by this.
nothing hostile here just different social environment. just an expression of astonishment about how u went about this.
As you can see, aside from the subpar grammar, spelling errors, and what not, you do not provide a lot of useful information about the problem, or give any suggestions on what could change. All but two sentences (which I omitted), were outright hostile and aggressive, so it's just a rage-post from beginning-to-end.
no i see not. grammar maybe, spelling errors? i m just using chat-write. i was very direct with the problem.
why give no prompt to ur readership stating why the content was removed and in case of translations provide a link to the original. it also would have validated ur point about banned fictions being actually translations and would have stopped mistakes like some fictions being banned unjustified. because it would have been weird if there had been an original of an original i guess.
Therefore, the other members here believed you are doing nothing more than causing trouble and complaining, even if that was not your intention.
yes, u assumed, interpreted how u want it to sound and then labeled me...which is very toxic behaviour to me as a reader btw. just pointing out how i see this.
It'd have been better to approach this calmly, and with a level head. Outline your problems and issues, and then provide the solutions to them, even if they are not viable.
maybe or maybe u guys needed this wake up call to think more about ur readership when u pull stunts like this. honestly this situation feels like some badly written ai-content
If you had done so, this would have been received much better.
probably not, since some ppl just read what they want instead of actually thinking about the words standing there in a line. this only partly effects u since u have taken ur time to discuss this a bit in depth and shown me that some parts i ve written are actually a bit overblown.
I hope this clears it up for you, even if it is only a little bit.
