How much do y'all re-read your chapters before publishing em?

Depends on the story. My main one, I sleep on the chapter for a while. I reread and edit before I post. The other, I write and post day of, because it was always meant to be a fun distraction.

Rant: Why Is Royal Road like this?

Huh.. my only story on RR is 100% trans, and I never had to fought any moderators to be there? ... and damnit, I got caught by the necro thread and didn't check the dates before replying.

    A collaborative editor

Authors collaborating and acting as editor for each other is far from ridiculous. It can be tricky to land on someone who will provide the same quality and quantity of feedback as you want/are capable of. Usually it's best to ask for these things in writer's circles.

GUYS! I AM STOCK! Should ı send the new chapter that already 16 pages or write more?

What in the nine hells did I just read...?

    Gods of Light

In one of my recent chapter, there is a theological discussion about the goddess of darkness being seemingly more good than the goddess of light in my world. They both are good, on the spectrum of good vs evil, but the goddess of light is a lot more direct in her methods and approach, so she...

    Thoughts about time skips

I tend to dislike time skips, because I often want to see/read those moments where the protagonist struggles. I want to hear them nearly give up. I want to hear the words of wisdom of those who support them. I want to see the normalcy in their lives, despite the epic story. But maybe that's...

Can another author explain to me why so many stories don't use paragraphs?

Concerning paragraph length, I personally view ScribbleHub on desktop with the narrowest width, in order to have a similar view from my users on mobile. Making your "paragraphs" less than one screen long on mobile is actually helpful for that readerbase. It does mean you lose the chunky...

    Yo hello there world!

Great, catchy title and cover art, good blurb, interesting concept, understanding of SH's demographics, good writing. Oh, and once you're out of "recent stories", picking the right time to release new chapters to maximize presence in the "recently updated" section.

Keeping track the bloody character roster

I use a combination of Dabble's character cards, my brain's stupidly high recall capacity, and my Book's recap chapters where I list pretty much every character in the story (it's getting big)

How to engage more readers or get new?

Same. Never heard of it. I don't profile post a lot. Maybe I should?

What metaphor describes your novels as important in your life?

All my stories are looking glasses into my soul, my own issues, or questions about identity, self-worth, belonging, etc. Calling it a mirror into my soul works from my perspective.

When do you have to put a warning label on your work?

To me, anti-LLM (AI) is the same as if an artist was adamantly against the use of the magic wand in Photoshop. It's far from perfect, but it does a decent job at selecting things, and from there, human input fixes things. True, you could have started straight with doing it by hand, but why...

When do you have to put a warning label on your work?

The best decision will be up to you and your tolerance for criticism. You can come clean and admit using some from of computer-assistance, and normalise it (if everybody was honest, there would be mentions of AI-assisting almost everywhere, and thus the mentions would soon become...

Does your novel recommend other novels, or is it recommended by other novels?

The two mutuals share a lot of the same tags, and even have similar total views and chapters I feel it did a good job of properly ID'ing stories that have some throughline connecting them.

Does your novel recommend other novels, or is it recommended by other novels?

My smaller story recommends a bunch of big hitters, like Fate Weaver's Legacy and Max Level Archmage, but I don't think it's referred back by anything. My larger one is mutual with a few others, which I think is cooler.

    Writing vs. Editing

I find editing much easier than writing. When I write, I fight the white page syndrome and I beat up against writer's block. I have to figure out how to take my story from where I left off to somewhere that feels satisfying, all the while steering the story closer to its predetermined outcome...

How does your story compare to The Eye of Argon?

Well, my characters bleed blood, not crimson. So I guess I'm nowhere near the quality of TEoA. I'll probably never be as (in)famous or well-known as it, either.

What the fuck is happening with monster girl evolution stories on RR??

Isn't that basically any regular old genderbender? I feel like I need to rename All I Wanted Was To Get A Skill At Level 10 Like Everyone Else to the much more trendy Coeurl Girl Evolution.
