I can handwave most bullcrap I write in fantasy genre as "it's magic." SciFi requires me to think everything thoroughly and make most magical things explainable. I don't have that much energy and scientific knowledge to craft such mechanics. But I love those details as a reader.

It needs editing. Particularly the first chapter. Your paragraphs appeared 15+ lines long when read from a mobile device. How about shrinking and splitting them into smaller ones first?

To add to CinnaSloth's suggestion above, while you still need to describe the settings, you don't have to describe everything at once. It's kind of like choosing your pokemon: which ones should go for the first paragraph? Which one for the next? Etc. Also, avoid using em-dashes (—) for things...
