How can I properly retcon something

You can always go back and edit earlier chapters. I'd leave an author's note saying that you did it on both the actual chapter & the latest chapter, if you do, though. But if you don't want to edit, you can always make it work. Create a reason why no one went after him despite what they knew.

How stubborn are your reading preferences?

This is basically me. I like to read a wide variety of genres and story types, so if I get past the first chapter I'm usually good. If I drop a story it's usually not for a specific reason outside of "it stopped being interesting to me personally." XD

    Nor fantasy or romance hub?

I mean. Technically you can post those stories here, it's just a matter of getting readers to come read it. XD But seriously, yeah. It is rather hard to find more generic sites to post writing for free that don't have defined reading niches. T-T

I want a Lit rpg with hard rules.

No joke, I was just about to recommend your work. LOL.

What do people look for in a good superhero fanfiction?

Identity Issues. I love identity issues so much. Half the reason I read anything hero related is because of the complex relationships that come from having secret identities and dual lives. Bruce Wayne vs Batman, Clark vs Superman, Peter Parker vs Spider-Man, and so forth. Heck, one of the...

    I have this one book...

This feels like when an artist posts a sketch and a finished work and the sketch gets far more attention. You really can't predict readers at all. Lol.

Is it against rules to have an alternative account?

I might be weird, but I feel like as long as you're tagging your stories appropriately, readers will be able to tell if they want to read it or not. Well, I know I'm weird. I write everything under the same pen name whether it's horror or romance, whereas many authors make different pen names...

    Cover Art Resources

Updated the Stock Art section with https://freestocktextures.com/ Textures can add so much to a piece of artwork or a photo, and they're usually very easy to add if you have an editing program, like the ones listed. They also make for great backgrounds and what not if you have transparent or...

    The new project bias

I'm almost always working on more than one at a time... But generally I love reading old works again. I also forgot the specific things I wrote years ago. Lol. However! I almost always have a good time reading my old stuff, even when I see where it could be improved.

[POLL] Which type of villain is more up to your alley?

Both. Lol. I love straight up evil villains that have complex motivations and character. XD But I lean toward the first option. I love Sadist!Villains and they tend to have simple motives: It makes me feel good so I do it.

Should I take advantage of the glossary?

The glossary feature is one of the high points of ScribbleHub. I see no reason not to use it. XD

Are review sites a good investment?

You should be careful with paid reviews. A lot of places don't accept them & they need to be disclosed: https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/documents/plain-language/1007a_soliciting-and-paying-for-online-reviews-508_0.pdf

My Lack of Commitment With Writing

That's probably your issue. Lol. Relax. Have some fun! Embrace the learning process and accept well meaning critique for the love of the craft and block the criticism. You'll probably start and stop dozens of stories until one clicks.

My Lack of Commitment With Writing

First question: Is writing a fun hobby you're looking to share? Yes? Post the WIP or don't post anything. Leave it on hiatus. Work on whatever you want. Post it just to share with friends. Have fun. No pressure. No? If you're looking to be serious and publish, you get to buckle down and force...

Scrapping backlog: Can't stop won't stop

Better get to writing again. Lol. Buy more seriously, it's a common thing. I just scrapped an entire chapter bc I wasn't happy with it and I am starting over. XD

Woe is me.(Or is it I)

I have two processes. For finished novels I'm preparing for publishing, I mark up hard copies. The change in format makes it easier to catch things. I invested in an eink tablet to save on paper and it has been a good system (ideally I'd have an proper editor, but that involves $$). For the...

    How could you???

I found that easy. There's a link to it on the bottom of every page in the footer. Lol. However, a lot of things are only listed in the forum that I can tell, like the Quote feature on the Announcements forum. Which is a good place for it, I just don't instinctively check forums for info on...

    How could you???

And I've learned something new. Much faster than what I was doing. XD; Also, in fairness it is very easy to miss that. I didn't even know about the quote feature until someone else mentioned it in the forums.

    How could you???

The checkmark next to the chapter on the list is also the bookmark, if I recall correctly. On mobile I have to highlight text to make the Quote options show, then when I click away it shows me the bookmark & next chapter overlays. Lol.
