    Random order for reading lists

I have reading lists that are all stories I've completed, and frequently check these lists to reread stories. I'd like the ability to randomize the order of stories on the list so I can be presented with different stories each time I look at it, so I don't just keep rereading the same ones over...

Translating Flashbacks: Should I Use the Same Phrasing or Adjust the Nuance?

I think if it's a direct quote, the "default" would be to reproduce it word for word—and thus, if it's changed, readers would assume there's a reason for it. On the other hand, you could paraphrase it if it's not contained in quote marks—e.g. "He remembered when his sister told him she was a...

Which set of disembodied voices are you spending a year with?

Ah yes a totally hypothetical question that definitely doesn't describe my lived experience at all. ... except there's six of us, not just four. Edit: and also that's a really hostile way of thinking about it? we friends. and/or siblings.

If AI becomes better than humans at everything, will human life lose some of its meaning?

Consider any skill you have. Unless you're very egotistical or exceptional, there's probably someone else better at it than you. Does that make your skill meaningless? So why should it be any different because it's AI? (Anyway, anyone who actually understands anything about generative "AI"...

Should the sites like Scribble Hub use the 5-star rating system?

Like and dislike, but like Pandora rather than Steam—where there's no global positive/negative rating, only "people similar to your history liked/disliked this". (I'm not totally sure that's how Pandora works, but it's something along those lines.)

    Pirates + Card Battles

Sounds neat. I would play that game, certainly—it sounds like FTL with a deckbuilder aspect. It sounds fairly suitable to a narrative too, cause all the crew cards could have their own personalities.

Resolved A trans story I read here on scribblehub a few years back

Looking for a story that I can't recall the title of. I read it here on scribblehub, probably four+ years back? I think it was complete, but I don't remember for sure. What I remember: * It's set in a modern world where people transform into anthro animal forms once they self actualize/"know...

Can all fanfictions be considered as alternate universe?

Well... not all of them. Most, certainly. But some fanfics are canon compliant. Heck, there's one series I wrote canon-compliant fanfic for that was a multi-author collaboration in the first place. If I was a more prolific writer, my fics could have been made canon. So, I don't see those as...

Talk me out of this idea.

Is there a good reason they need to visit these worlds? Or is it just to get them out of the way of the main plot? Because if it's the latter, you're better off giving them something important related to the main plot to do. Hard to know without context, though, maybe this is totally related to...

    Which Tags are red flags?

Hah. I look for the exact opposite, because I want to read the stories of self–discovery and character interaction, and I'm not interested in action or advancement for its own sake. My red flags (although really, they're more yellow) are isekai—because there's so many isekai gender benders...
