    What's up with the downvoting?

    You're not wrong.

    What's up with the downvoting?

It is, and I understand why it is this way. But it's a funny kind of irony nonetheless. Get a meaningless positive rating, nobody bats an eye. But get a meaningless negative rating, and here we are.

    What's up with the downvoting?

I just laugh at the hypocrisy of authors who complain about 1-stars without feedback, but just quietly gloss over the much more prevalent 5-stars without feedback. If your story is good, but not amazing, 4-stars would make more sense, right? Did you realize the average rating on SH is somewhere...

Silent acceptance or vocal criticism--Which is better?

See if the feedback you get is constructive and relevant, but otherwise judge by the actual numbers. If you have 200 readers, and two of them voice dissatisfaction, but 198 more keep reading, I would say that's good. Ultimately though, it's your own story, and you have to weight your priorities...

@JayMark is a strong contender. Giving birth twice in as many weeks, once to a brain-eating worm, and once to an eldritch monster?

    SUPREME COURT OF SHF

@JayMark has left the courtroom for delivery, I propose they are charged with contempt of court.

    A Corner for Winners

Many of us were hoping Tony would do something more against the flood of translations than quietly hide them one by one. For every one you reported, there was always more cropping up. You could perhaps frame the comments on that topic as demands, though I don't know if anyone made any outright...

The problem is that he's not a doctor, he's a quack! *plops the mop against the floor grumpily* And you have not eaten it yet?

I don't know, the duck seems a little suspicious... Have you ever seen a duck in a hat?

Can a slow-burn military fantasy survive without an OP protagonist?

It absolutely can, if written well, but is unlikely to get much traction here. One of my favourite novels I found on here is similar to what you describe.

I don't have many special qualifications, but I can do a grumpy janitor, always mopping the floor whenever you need to leave the room.

[MEGATHREAD] for Finding, Identifying and Reporting Translations

Something is going on for sure, since there are now numerous threads from people who had their novel nuked, but swear it was not translation - including someone like @Louhi who have previously proven as much. They all seem to be either Chinese setting or fanfics too.

[MEGATHREAD] for Finding, Identifying and Reporting Translations

I assume such function was never implemented, because translations were never meant to be there and it was not seen as potential issue until now. It would be great if there was at least a hidden tag only for the admins/backend to see if a novel was previously proven to be original.

[MEGATHREAD] for Finding, Identifying and Reporting Translations

The home of original stories in English, officially. So even original Asian slop is still allowed.

[MEGATHREAD] for Finding, Identifying and Reporting Translations

This would nuke a huge chunk of novels that are inspired by Chinese slop, but are not actually translations... now I personally would not mind that too much, but it would hardly be fair or justified.

    A Corner for Winners

Technically you could show the winners of the last contest on the main page, with a link to archived results of past contests. But of course it all assumes official support for contests from Tony in the first place.

There is an overlap between isekai and transmigration, but they are not the same. Isekai literally means another world. As long as the character gets moved to another world, it technically falls under isekai, though most common is reincarnation or summoning, and the characters might keep their...

Can i scrap already posted chapters?

Then you probably don't have much to lose. Most readers don't care to start a novel before it has about 20, 50, or 100 chapters.
