Should the prohibited content rules for Scribblehub be ammended to include Illegal Monetization?

Nope, the advocation is "The laws are NOT that way". But nice job trying to restate the disagreement. You are claiming that Patreon allows illegal copyright violations. I am not going to call you a flat-out liar, but this data is false. Because it does not. It is not illegal to support someone...

story with the best looking LITRPG stats?

Well, you could always write your books as one of those 3d packed-to-the-brim with uncanny valley visual novels on steam.

Oh, no kidding, but patent law's problems are mostly in it's vague wording and enforcement. I mean, come on, some dipshit patented 'quantum entanglement communication'. No method, no examples, no production methodology, no prototype, and yet the patent application was APPROVED. Just like the...

story with the best looking LITRPG stats?

I write litRPG, but I have been scaling back more and more on the crunchiness. Today? my usual character sheet: Roisin Gabrielle Reynard Gremlin (tin-rank) Rift Sentinel Spiritualism (Journeyman) dominate node improved assemble advanced swarm improved repair cure Forces (Adept)...

Is it okay to tell readers when so and so is about to start after such and such chapter

Just don't use the phrase 'little did he know...." God, I hate that. I really do. switching to an omniscient POV showing the bad guy's 'tilted lair' where they talk about the plot is perfectly fine, but blunt mid-story narration is so awful There was a movie that came out a while back, called...

Is it okay to tell readers when so and so is about to start after such and such chapter

I will sometimes put in an author's note if a scene is too crunchy or juicy, where a reader can skip to the next chapter if they want without missing much overarching plot. Guess that means Blue Moon will never read my books :)

Why do so many people like netori?

It's cuckold fic. basically, the dude takes away someone else's chick. Gamma wish fulfillment, like slave harem or Jerry Stu, but with a fancy Japanese title so it doesn't sound so sleazy. Basically, it's like 'isekai' instead of 'portal fantasy'. It's a weeb thing.

Should the prohibited content rules for Scribblehub be ammended to include Illegal Monetization?

True dat, I used to be a big part of pirate sites when I was young and broke. You know what? I found out that my friends and I would almost universally buy the real thing when we had enough money. IF IT DIDN'T SUCK! The problem with books is, you buy something, and find out it absolutely...

Should the prohibited content rules for Scribblehub be ammended to include Illegal Monetization?

Ahh, I guess I poorly chose my return shitpost. I still love The Princess Bride, though. And mostly I was just irritated at the utter ignorance of the moral, ethical, and legal underpinnings of fair use laws displayed by a couple of prior posters in this thread. If I see someone cutting their...

Should the prohibited content rules for Scribblehub be ammended to include Illegal Monetization?

Yeah, except it ain't stealing. Loaded language doesn't change the reality that they are not depriving you of any actual property. Accusing someone of a crime in print is libel. You are not 'entitled' to the income that fanfic writers draw. And claiming that they are 'stealing' is nothing more...

Should the prohibited content rules for Scribblehub be ammended to include Illegal Monetization?

Heh, well, this subject is something I have had to wrestle with for decades as an artist, writer, and game developer after I left the service. I came to a conclusion a LONG time ago that it took studios almost twenty years to realize. Piracy doesn't cost sales. People who 'steal' copies of your...

Should the prohibited content rules for Scribblehub be ammended to include Illegal Monetization?

Copyright law has been warped out of logic and common sense into an edifice that only serves to protect corporate interests. Expect it to change soon. As a content creator, I find the current form of copyright to be an offensive mess that harms writers of all kinds and leads to nothing but trash...

To the Artists out there who write.

It's a thousand times harder to write a five hundred page novel and make a fraction of the money off of it that a decent stream commission would bring. But I got tired of being a performance artist. At least now, after publishing 12 books on kindle, I am almost making rent... a couple of more...

Would you be offended if a commisonar gave you ai generated examples of what they wanted a character to look like?

If they get offended, they don't deserve your money. Artists are like buses, in lots of ways. Artists are easily replaced, usually a cheaper one that will do a better job. I know, I got replaced all the time when I was playing the artist game. If someone tells you "I need the character to...
