    Tropes from fairy tales?

So I've been brainstorming all the fairy tale tropes I can think of from my reading, and I came up with a list over the past few days. I might have a few of them multiple times in there, but whatever. I'm not going to use all of these, clearly, but I do want to keep compiling a list so I have...

    Finally.

Yeah, you--and you! To the principal's office. Now! "I used to look at writing like my life depended on it" That's why you quit. Creativity, which is what writing a story is, is not sustainable in that regard. This regard: "I used to look at writing like my life depended on it" I think I...

Are you a discovery writer or a planner?

I don't edit a lot, lol. I don't really call myself a planner or a discovery writer, or even a hybrid. I use all methods when I decide the need arises. I've written big outlines, I've written from a purely blank page. My natural inclination is to plan it out, however that breaks my fun, so...

    Personal writting problem

Focus on the romantic attraction rather than the physical attraction. If you can manage it, the romance will come across as way stronger than the typical lust relationship you might see. It'll be a strong story.

    Format Feedback

I've always toyed with the idea of writing a script-like format. I've actually read screenplays purely for fun, and they are digestible as a written medium. Just don't do yourself a diservice by leaving out the inner thoughts of your characters, it's what makes fiction unique. I mean, if J.K...

I guess I should not have neglected Scribble Hub?

I suppose this makes sense. I read this on another blog: "Whereas Erotic romance tends to focus on stories that are emotional, smut focuses on the physical."

I guess I should not have neglected Scribble Hub?

I'm sure I know what you mean. Lady Commander (which I have not posted) is a fantasy space opera "with erotic scenes," but I'd never label it a smut, even though it's pretty graphic.

I guess I should not have neglected Scribble Hub?

Lol. It's Lambent + Tyto actually. I'm just not used to it being called smut. Erotica is the proper genre term, isn't it?

I guess I should not have neglected Scribble Hub?

So when you say "smut" what exactly are we talking about?

    I'm just new here.

I guess I should not have neglected Scribble Hub?

Sadly, it's true. What I write doesn't seem to have that much of a draw over there. I should post my stuff over here. The Jinni and the Isekai is over 900 pages! How do you figure they're losing readers, though?

I guess I should not have neglected Scribble Hub?

I find it very interesting that ONI RŌKURA is about to surpass readership with its Royal Road counterpart with fewer chapters uploaded and only half the total views. Actually, if I count "plan to read" it has already surpassed the story on Royal Road, and it's even on Rising Stars over there...

    The Street Writer is awful

To all the pantsers residing within this degenerates’ lair, have you ever had a moment when you “just write” and end up completing the entire story?

I don't consider myself a pantser (although that's usually my approach) because I sometimes outline as well. And yes, I almost always have this experience. It comes from being relaxed. When you don't care about the writing, your mind is free from critical thought, which opens up your creativity...

    Giving extras names

I absolutely give these characters names. You don't necessarily even need to use their names in the narrative. You can have a character call them by name. It just lends more body to the scene, but yes, it can be more confusing if there are many more names for the reader to remember. I always...

    I finished a novelette

Very nice. I'm intending to write a fairy tale epic. I posted a cover for it yesterday. Hey., you should enter your fairy tale into the Writers of the Future! I love the novelette length. One of my favorites.
