    high vs low review scores

I've only seen one author asking for a one star review. I think she just wants to show that she doesn't care about the rating, so she decides to go the opposite route. Kinda like reverse psychology, but not quite.

Narcissist and egocentric character gets copied.

I don't think a narcissist will ever see a flaw in themselves, if you know what I mean. Especially if the other party is the exact replica of you. That's no different from looking into the mirror. The gender-bend scenario is where the real difference lies. Assuming both of them came from...

Narcissist and egocentric character gets copied.

They'd probably admire each other like they admired themselves in the mirror.

    Out of Context

"It was her p***y!" Best quote from yours truly.

My story got stolen... and its kinda dumb.

Are you really serious about this? Usually, if you're not monetizing your stuff, it doesn't matter if someone steals it. Filing a lawsuit is just too much trouble, especially if it involves international law (you and the bastard are from different countries). If you're really serious about...

What's the Secret Ingredient to a Great Story?

Emotional response. Some people read for nerdy brainy reason, but I can say with confidence that most readers want to feel something when consuming a story. Plot, character, setting, and everything else are means in which you can achieve an emotional response.

'Outgrowing' a Type of Narrative or Genre

Of course. Taste and preference change with time. When I was younger, I prefer a more light-hearted and silly stuff (I still do), but now that I'm older, I want a bit more grit and realism. I'm also more interested in characters and relationships than world building and kiss kiss bang bang...

I read Stephen King's On Writing

Yes, but it's highly flawed. The main strength of discovery writing is that it allows for a very organic feel; the characters feel real and the story has a logical flow to it. That is if you have already written a lot and have already internalized the craft. Your story will naturally have more...

What are you giving Envy for Halloween?

I'm too stingy to give you anything, so instead I'll send you... love.

    Rules on translated stories

If it's in the public domain, then I don't see a problem with it. I've read translated stuff on this site before.

What Term Would You Use To Refer To The Collection Of Worlds Each Author Has Made?

I thought about this before settling with Imagined Universe. I was toying with universe, multiverse, and omniverse. Now that I think about it more deeply, omniverse sounds like the best option (I want it to sound good too, remember, not just meaningful). Imagined Omniverse, that doesn't sound...

    Bad Reviews/ Interpretation

People read for different reasons, but the most popular one is to have fun and escape. Just look at the bestselling novels of all time and you'll see what I mean. That, however, doesn't mean other reasons are invalid. Some read to appreciate the prose; they don't care about the story much as...

How ruthless are you when it comes to DNFing stuff?

You, sir, have done your research~ :blob_salute:

How ruthless are you when it comes to DNFing stuff?

Like, the moment you get slightly bored, "I'm out." I can relate to this. That's why I love reading those thousands chapters long web novels; when you're really into a story, you can just dwell in that world forever until you grow out of it. Though, it's better if a story has a satisfying ending.
