    Recommendations?

I don't know. I just can't trust that something is good if the author themself is recommending it. I mean, of course they'll think it's good.

To all those authors who can write a chapter a day. I salute you.

I could write a chapter in a day if I knew what I was writing, but most of the time most of the time I'm writing I'm thinking about what to write. It's very rare that I do write a chapter in a day, but I have done it.

    Recommendations?

Does anyone else think it's really biased when someone recommends their own work?

The reason/or inspration behind one of your proudest works?

I have a couple reasons. Ones that I saw and one I did not see. I will explain the ones that I saw, the ones I had intended. The last reason is a bit embarrassing, though I'm still proud of writing it the way I did. Most western fantasy novels (The Hobbit, Dresden Files, Wheel of Time) involved...

For the authors who introduce their characters, why you do that?

Show vs tell is a common concept in the writing world. Many new writers are set on show being better than tell since their writing mostly consists of tell, and they assume that that must be the reason why their writing is bad. But that is not so, my friend. It is bad simply because they are new...

For the authors who introduce their characters, why you do that?

It depends. It's not about what you do i.e. show vs tell, it's about how you do it i.e. your execution. There is no definitive good or bad. Think not of the answer but of the question. Guys, we should really make a common Q and A thread and pin it, because I feel like I've read this question...

I can't seem to get my bearings on writing or think by myself

You must find a balance between mindfulness and thoughtlessness. Think too much and your words will have no soul, or you won't write at all. Feel too much and your words will have no structure or be unreadable. You must find a balance between the two, where you words come out as you envision...

How long should a regular chapter be?

Why'd you quote me? You should write more. A lot of people are saying there is no answer, but there is. There needs to be an atmospheric/thematic beginning and ending for each chapter. You can't do it simply by feel. One must think about the length, even if only subconsciously.

How long should a regular chapter be?

Some should pin this or one of the prior threads. I feel like this is the third thread with the same question.

Why do all the yuri novels seem to be gender-bender?

I also hate genderbender. It adds nothing to the story 99% of the time. And I feel like people only do it because it's popular. It's hard to accurately write the opposite gender. If you can't do it right, then don't do it. Going about things halfway will only upset people. It's not like anyone...

Have you ever had an idea you never made for one reason or another?

I find it amazing, how you come to your conclusions. The Last Jedi was bad because it tried too hard to subvert expectations and GoT was bad because the ending was rushed. Yes, that is how one should normally conduct a mystery. What the hell is a happiness index? It sounds dreadfully...

Have you ever had an idea you never made for one reason or another?

I'm still very amateur in writing, but when I try to contrive a way to get to a cool reveal or moment I usually can't. You want the unimportant series of events leading to the climax to be as or more interesting than the climax. You want to make the reader think the unimportant bits are...

    Request for fonts.

Oh, I see. I'm sorry, I didn't know that. I don't very much like font changes, I think they're quite jarring. Though some say POV shifts are as well. Perhaps I simply have not experienced enough of them yet.

Ability to Down Vote on Forums

You could like something with an angry emoji. I mean, I imagine it would be easy to add a thumbs down image along with the thumbs up one.

    Request for fonts.

I use a feature on firefox on android, I think it's called read mode or something, and it changes the font, eliminates anything that isn't text, turns the background black and words white, and overall makes the reading experience much more appealing.
