  • Welp, on progress on the new story. Current writing Chapter 6. So about 31k words give or take at the moment.

The first half concludes at Chapter 7. Should be about 40k words.

The second half in an interlude and from Chapters 8 to 12(Finale). Should be about 80k or 90k words is the estimate.
The new story is going to be 12 chapters long, but about 80k to 90k words is my estimate. Some new ideas are being added in as well.

Such as, first time the protagonist is a card user. There will be an interlude that links into the second half of the story, so this covers two main halves.

With some usuals such as the past scenes covered in the conclusion sections and .5 chapters.
I guess it has been a while since I did any proper updates here. Well, to get caught up. Azure Night has two new shorts added to it, readable on Patreon.

Sovereign Night’s epub can be purchased for $4, up to 20 people only.

It is also at about Chapter 3 for free, Chapter 7 for paid.

And I am working on a new story right now. When it is close to the end. I’ll start showing some draft scenes, Patreon perk.
This game has like another 120 hours to go, when you do New Game Plus, it looks to be adding a lot of new stuff to the story itself from the final antagonists view.
Beat the game, 77 Chapters. Long as hell, but great experience. Took me about 150 hours to get through it.
So in one turn while in Natural Fantasy. Can get about four actions in one turn. Which is more than enough to wipe out two bars of a boss health.

Given the adjustments made, it would no doubt wipe out around 5 bars of health before the form fades. And by then, the battle should be long over.

Note, this was done without using Full Power, so it could an extra bar of health on the first turn.
I swear, those battles get so insane. Bosses can deal 200 to 300% damage, and can have moments where they can disable evading and accuracy up.

So you save up your bombs for those moments, to destroy their fields. They can even reduce your damage by 60% plus, on top of a whole lotta stuff.

You can’t really take a hit to begin with at those points, so capitalizing on damage is your best bet.
So for the maxed out build. Gave Reimu 50% recovery on MP and ammo per turn. And 20% SP recovery. On top of them getting an extra action a turn, and 300 more attack on their weapons.

Combined with Zeal for more actions, this is a pretty damn broken build.

You’ll practically be wiped with a single attack anyway. So skipped the HP boost, and focusing in on dodging everything, and dishing out high rapid damage.

Also, apparently a feature seemed to be added midway. Allowing Natural Fantasy to be used with a paired team. So, more dmg.
Natural Fantasy combined with Zeal is pretty damn broken. I figured it would be best saved for the final health bar of a boss.

Though, given that with a pair it can wipe out a whole bar of life.

Zeal giving an extra action that turn. Could probably extend it to 3 bars of health. And given it lasts 3 turns, can keep this going for a while.
From what I can tell. Natural Fantasy is like UI, before UI was a thing, plus on steroids.

You cannot beat someone you cannot hit at all, you cannot beat someone who can be at any position at any time.

You cannot beat someone who can end a battle in an instant. It being put into a spellcard, meant it was at least beatable. Although with immense difficulty, there was at least a chance.
Huh. So Reimu’s true power literally makes her invincible. The ability to pass through reality, to pass into fantasy.

Could also be some inconsistency in the writing. Given that Chapter 48 made it appear that she knew about it.

While like Chapter 20+. Made it appear as if she didn’t know about it.
    Valmond

Chapter 48 with Marisa also pointing to Reimu knowing about it, and how Marisa came up with the name for it, Natural Fantasy.

Chapter 49, Yukari was about to scold Reimu when she saw it. And Reimu’s response to it points to her knowing about the restriction from it, and her not having no choice but to use it.

The equipment Yukari created for Reimu was to suppress that power, but Reimu ended up undoing the binding in a desperate time of need.
Part 2 though was much more heavy. As it covers Yukari and Yuyuko’s story. Yukari was a Yukai who stood by Yukari during her human days.

And grew close to her, but saw what Yuyuko’s curse of drawing death did. It broke Yuyuko, and eventually she took her own life.

Yukari saw the limits of her power, but sealed Yuyuko’s body beneath the tree, where it would not bloom.

Hence, I think this was how Gensokyo was eventually formed. Yuyuko may not remember, but their connection is close even through many reincarnations.

Yukari unable to tell her, as remembering could likely cause the collapse of that world she built.

However, she knows it is an inevitable occurrence. As Yuyuko unconsciously seeks after her memories.

This is really the only instance Yukari remains completely on the side. And allowed the protagonist to handle it.

But they are shown to be really close. Yukari however, as a Youkai. Isn’t supposed to hold onto all memories. As it can drive them insane.

But she refuses to let go of any on Yuyuko.
Part 3 did have some pretty good moments. Not as many as Part 1 and 2. But definitely was standout.

Such as a character who drunk an elixir for eternal life, to restore their family honor by challenging another immortal.

They grew distant over the years. And the only time they felt alive, was fighting that person to the death, dying and resurrecting constantly.
Part 1 clash between the Shrine Maiden and the Vampire of the Night.

Part 2 a clash against a Shrine Maiden and the gods.

    And

The tragic story, likely GL. On the boundary entity and someone they lost, that person seeking after their memories unconsciously.

    Part 3

    Fugitive moon people.
