    Chapter 42. Still got a long way to go. The third part, a lot of characters get an upgrade to their whole moveset.

    The protagonist was already hard to hit as it was if you set them up right, but now they’re extremely difficult to hit on top of their higher damage output.

    Plus new features.

    Still, a single slip up can mean you’re down. That pressure does not change.

    This Touhou game is insanely long. Not sure how much it is, I saw Chapter 65 is midway into Part 4. I am just on Chapter 27.

    Bosses also gets some other benefits. Sanae for instance, in her last phase. She gains 100% accuracy and 100% evasion for the first turn.

    Someone will have to face tank the hit. If you’ve been managing your SP well, Cirno can reduce damage taken to 10. So they can tank the ultimate.

    And before the next turn comes, if you’ve been managing MP and range well.

    Marisa can deal in enough damage to put them in range for Reimu to knock off the rest with Fantasy Seal.

    This Touhou game really knows how to turn up the difficulty. Last boss had essentially 6 phases. Or in other words, six bars of health.

    It was a dual battle so had to take out each god twice, then the last one two more times.

    All the while, having to manage resources and their field itself. The one before that had three phases, and then an extra fourth, where one character had to face tank the boss ultimate.

    Dodging was locked to 0%, accuracy locked to 0% for that turn. On top of that, had to end it that turn, because the boss hits all within their field for enormous amount of damage.

    They get much stronger per phase as well. :blob_neutral:

    Ya know, this isn’t surprising, but yet it did caught me a bit off guard. Legends ZA’d budget was $13M. Scarlet and Violet was $20M.

    I’ve seen indies do more with this, but for a franchise like Pokemon. This is pitifully low. Essentially, lowest amount of resources, since they know it’ll sell no matter how bad it is.

    Pretty sure you lot heard about the whole Xbox thing. 50% increased subscription caused a massive amount of unsubscribing, which crashed their site.

    And then they came out with cloud gaming with ads. But limiting it to 5 hours max per month. With some ads an hour.

    At this point, not sure what they are doing.

    After 20 years, this year. The mod community has finally broken through what is pretty much the final barrier for Valkyrie Profile 2 Silmeria.

    You can now add special characters to your party without freezing the game. Plus updates to ignore game guard now, I believe entirely.

    And the freeze.

    I believe now they are working on adding all characters at once. And working on a small quirk, where main story events

    You see, in terms of anti-piracy. VP 2 is notorious as pretty much one of the hardest games to mod.

    Companies shoulda taken note from this, at least it doesn’t affect performance of the game at all.

    The anti-piracy was so insane. That you can corrupt your files very easily, and likely wouldn’t know until Chapter 5, late into the game.

    That your file is game breakingly corrupt.

    It was so bad, that you’d have to wipe all data if you messed up.
