Something that is written very elegantly.

I'm in need of something to read at night. Keep finding things that have very passive diction (which is a strong turn off for me).
I don't care much about the genre, long as it is written well, like, I want to struggle understanding the vocabulary.

Examples of what I'm NOT looking for:

He got back up. After cleaning his sword, he checked the room again. It was empty. The dungeon was not that dangerous.

I mean, I'm sure I could provide you with a story that will leave you struggling to understand it.
But if it has to be written well, I might not have one after all. :blob_cookie:

I'd recommend my novel, but I don't think I'm good enough to avoid the example, haha.

This is not my true self

I couldn't even post a single ad properly lol
Let me kick you once more, when you're already down:
If you want to add a meme or reaction image to your post, better upload it on an image hosting platform, like IMGBB or something, and then add it via image URL. Because, as you can see, if you don't, it will show as an attachment and look like shit. :blob_cookie:

Well this just sounds like a trap. "Do you think you're novel is good enough?". Well what author could resist that challenge?

See here's the thing: I treat tonal consistency like it murdered my girlfriend, endangered my life and gave my mother permanent brain damage. I use big words because they're fun, but I'll also on occasion break into a parody of street slang as understood by a girl who had to look up what a bird was on urban dictionary. In one chapter my characters will be enjoying a nice day out at the mall and in the next they'll be being kidnapped by the government. I feel like I will both succeed and fail to satisfy your itch, depending on the chapter.

Spending time searching for a page and then looking through over 10,000 images isn't really something I'd do just for a comment, hahaha, but good kick. 🫪

I can resist it. No way my story would be what he's looking for. :blob_cookie:
On my main webnovel - the only one that has any substantial weight, because the others barely have any chapters - there's dialogue like this, where the protagonist communicates with a being she can talk to inside of her mind, who obviously can, partially, peek into her thoughts:

At first, she had to brave the storm that was coming from up ahead, and then, maybe, she could put out the fires on the side – or light new ones, if she had to.
'Are you planning on burning down Gloria Forest?'
'Of course not, I would never do that.'
'I was simply inquiring,' Pan commented, 'your thoughts were inconclusive.'
'Oh, shut up.' Well, of course, simply burning down the entire mountain range would not exactly solve her problems, so she had to face them in a different manner.

Yeah, hell no.

This might actually be the best sentence I've ever read on this site.
Well, if it's "the best," that's also sad, not gonna lie. :blob_cookie: Here, have a sad cookie. 🍪

I feel you man. I'm tempted to recommend mine, but only the first chapter really has anything too crazy vocab wise. For example:

The king slumped against his lavish throne as another impact rocked the palace walls. Crystal chandeliers swayed like hanged men from above, their gentle chiming a macabre counterpoint to the screams of his subjects. With each explosion, dust was released from rafters that had once witnessed heartwarming coronations, now bearing witness to an ending. His ending. Their ending. Ceprun’s ending.

“Where there are gods, there is a golden light. A light that consumes all that it touches. A light that cannot quite be called destruction. For it is neither evil, nor good…”

Zhu Bajie’s snout twitched as a golden light bathed his throne room in its overwhelming intensity. His massive frame, once imposing in its royal regalia, now seemed diminished by that light. The crown that had passed through generations sat heavy on his brow, each jewel a reminder of the legacy about to be snuffed out.

After this, it's kinda just regular stuff.

May i perhaps interest you with my literature, my good sir?
It had a vast array of elegant and eloquent words that might make you struggle.

Here's a testimony from others who's struggling:
