Back when I actually had this mythical thing called "free time", I would do April Fools chapters. I would also do Christmas chapters, Thanksgiving chapters, and pretty much every other major holiday. For the holiday chapters, the whole story would suddenly come to a halt and I, the author, would make an appearance, causing the main female character(s) to instantly fall head over heels in love with me. Eventually that got to be too much, so I limited it to just a Christmas chapter where all of my main characters got together to do something Christmas-y like meeting Santa or having a gift exchange. It got so weird that eventually my April Fools chapters actually seemed normal by comparison.
