Reading about all this drama makes me kinda grateful my stuff goes unnoticed. I do get more views there than here, but only a couple of the works I posted there gained a follower or two, so I don't know why all my chapters have 20+ views.
About 70% of the people who use SH don't even have an account to interact with the site so they only ever contribute to view counts. Of the remaining 30% you have many silent reader who will at most add you to a reading list (if they even know it exsists). This behavior isn't exclusive to SH either.

I made a forum post on there about the heavy Eurocentrism in fantasy
I'll be honest. The folklore most commonly read is limited to the language one speaks. If you learn Mandarin, then you'll see many fantasy stories with folklore, legends, and myths not from Europe. If you speak English, then you'll see folklore, legends, and myths mostly from Europe. As a Spanish speaker, there is plenty of fantasy stories with South American and African folklore, legends, and myths; you just won't hear about them in the only language you speak.

I made a forum post on there about the heavy Eurocentrism in fantasy and how exclusionary it is to POCs. I got the usual "oh it's not that deep! DEI!" thing then the mods instantly deleted it lmao

Hm... that might explain why I can't relocate any of my old posts on there. I never started shit, but I did butt in to state who was in the right or not; that flag blew in both directions. I never picked a side there, and there were enough sides to be compared with an apeirohedron.

Are you referring to any author in general or specific ones?
I think there are a lot of authors that don't do that. It is just that the reality is that trying to stand out just by writing good and posting frequently is not enough. So their whole spheel seems like a bit of a lie.

Yeah, hard work matters, but pretending it's the only objective is just the American Dream with a word count.

Welcome to the age where being a writer also needs to understand digital marketing

The funny thing is that since the site is larger, gaining readers is easier in RR than in ScribbleHub, but to keep your story up, you can't ever use the forums of the clique of popular authors and mobs will find some reason to go after you.

HoneyFeed is the kindest of the three sites I first posted to
Only because anyone on that site who isn't an author is a bot trying to scam you. I've been on Honeyfeed for about three years now, and I finally deleted my account when I went through my alerts and saw that I'd only received three non-bot comments on any of my books, and that was a year and a half ago. Bot comments, though? I get half a dozen of those a week. It's Penana all over again.

Bots are everywhere, so I just ignore them.

It's RNG, honestly. Sometimes you get really rude comments and reviews, sometimes you get actual criticism and nice reviews/comments. I think it's a fine site so long as you're not looking to climb numbers.
