Vicious was not pleased when she reached the outskirts of the mountain again. Because she had gone to the effort of slowing her speed to match a horse's, take breaks every time mealtime came around, and get proper sleep for once in order to confirm how long the journey would take for the average merchant convey. To be fair, her legs were still rather sore which prevented her from running at maximum speed, but still. Meanwhile, Sanguine flew overhead, easily keeping up despite being barely out of fledging status---that irked her a little as well.
With this in mind, the Liberi would reach the barrier on the fifth morning, relatively unbothered by the wild animals on the road. She did meet some strange club-wielding blue-skinned scrawny hunchbacked semi-humanoids some time on the third day, near a smaller mountain on the way, but after she'd demonstrated her proficiency in the fine art of unarmed combat, she was given a wide berth. She also decided to confiscate the strange two-handed wooden mace-like weapon for her temporary own usage. It did resemble a rather long baseball bat after all.
Is this 5 days from Scribel to the barrier of 5 days from the mountain outskirts because the two are very different numbers and whilst both might be interesting to you the Scribel to Machu is the only time that matters here and you never said. Plus how far is it from the barrier entrance to the actual town 2 days? 3 days? Is it required that you are thrown by one of the 4 guardians?

And on the jade things as I said that's a mercantile business it's got nothing to do with long lasting efforts of the guild does it? I mean it's a nifty power boost and all but it doesn't provide a steady stream of income to the guild itself? Unless they are constantly looking for people to go mining in the mountains which are supposed to be a blessed place right so I kind of doubt that is an option?

I'm back and saw that someone is interested in both the Underwater Kingdom and the shifting Underground Ruin... We can talk! 3 people are needed to make a region after all!

I was planning to add some underground races encounter when going to Underground Ruin and maybe some ancient magical civilization that hid from gods due to research in forbidden knowledge. The Underwater Kingdom was still unplanned...

For now, I'll be leveling Luna and setting the stage for her D-rank Exam so we'll still have time to discuss the regions! :blob_popcorn:
I'd like to help :blob_salute:

The mountain outskirts and the barrier are the same place. From the barrier to the city is another day. The jade itself is a power boost, but from what I've written it would be rather easy for one to infer that:

  • The Shogun wants to keep the place as nice as before. Quests will most likely involve lots of collaborations with the guards.
  • The guards are all beastmen. The whole city is beastmen. Beastmen guards fight differently from human ones, and learning melee combat from them would not be impossible.
  • The Miko and a few others are shapeshifters. That's a whole quest line waiting to happen.
  • The market has great and unique wares.
And finally, just to let you know, the Adventurer's Guild does not deal with merchants. That's the Merchant's Guild. And if the Adventurer's Guild is wise, they'll capitalize on this chance before the Merchant Guild sinks their jaws into Fuyu's market.

What the fuck else is this quest sponsored by the Merchant's guild if not working with Merchants....
Adventurer's Guild ---- Merchant's Guild ---- Merchants

The Adventurer's Guild works with Merchants only when the Merchant Guild sends out requests. If the Adventurer's Guild wants a piece of the jade trade in Fuyu, they'll either have to go there themselves or get Merchants through the Merchant's Guild. And if the Merchant's Guild comes into play, the amount of money the Adventurer's Guild makes will be a measly amount, since any profit will go through the Merchant's Guild first.

So if the Adventurer's Guild, whose HQ in Scribel is already in danger of rotting and breaking down when the wind blows the wrong way, wants a share of the large pie that is the Fuyu market, they had better set up a branch there and buy the things themselves.

Counts should be high ranking like the king should be level 60 or have equipment and stuff that makes him a level 60 threat~
I don't think people should be making Level 40+ NPCs as a regular affair. It's mentioned on the NPC power level reference sheet that very few people make it past Rank B.
So you're saying that high ranking humans should be at Hero tier which would mean they could dominate the world if they wanted to.
I sort of disagree. Heroes are heroes, but by no means are they OP. They shouldn't have world-crushing or spammable army-crushing abilities.
Trust me the lvl would not cap at 60 when we reached that point. There are still gods and devils and lots of impossible monsters to be found~
I guess this game feels more like a Beta test. Maybe @ohko @GM will change the leveling system in the future when we get to that point.
I'll probably severely decrease the EXP gain at the higher levels. Currently, the EXP gain is actually linear, which makes it feel extremely easy to level up.

And I'm not willing to budge on the level cap. You can make up "stronger" monsters, but no character should be able to exceed the "Hero" status only 1-2 "powerful" skills.

*Makes level 39 NPCs on a daily basis*

Oh boi, can't wait to do 30 quests to level up once.

*Makes 3 powerful branch skills*

@Bochi Since theres a dispute about Fuyu Machi, feel free to disregard the points on my last report since that Adsall's already dead. If you want to retcon it i'd recommend having it be the barriers effects causing him to get delusions ? .

What are your plans for the region btw, quest wise.
Hi-mi-tsu~ :blob_hide:
We can talk! 3 people are needed to make a region after all!
So it's looking like Fuyu Machi is going to be a Rank E or less region?

Since that's the case, I know I mentioned a few days ago that I'm looking for quest reports from 3 different players to open a region. This way, there's a bit more diversity than a single person's vision going into a region.

I'd be willing to waive the requirement for urgent purses (e.g. establishing a Rank D region is pretty urgent), but if Fuyu Machi is going to be Rank E or less, I don't think there's any rush.

Are you counting @Epsil's report as one of the Fuyu Machi reports or are you completely retconning it?

I was planning on having it be a D-C rank region, actually.

I didn't really get that impression from the report? People seem to be very relaxed and cozy.

In either case there definitely needs to be more reports then. XD

Keep in mind that you'll need some sort of device that makes it possible for there to be repeating guild quests. ^^

A short term plot that is easily resolvable doesn't do very well for opening regions.

(Basically you should start a conflict that you're not planning on resolving) :blob_hide::blob_hide::blob_hide::blob_hide:

I mean, the quest asked to see if it was beneficial to set up a branch there, so I wrote about that. I kinda want the Winter City to be a sort of lvl 1-30 place, yanno? So the conflict parts can only start after.

You'll need to introduce a conflict before the region can open with a set rank because otherwise it's almost impossible for people to write quests for it if we have no idea what we're dealing with. :blob_happy::blob_happy::blob_happy:

As it is right now, there has so far been no actual threats encountered by adventurers visiting Fuyu Machi (although it has been "mentioned")... so hard to even rate it as Rank E. It would basically be unranked if it's as safe as Scribel City.

So more investigating the area is needed~!

Well, IC the guild has to express interest in setting up a branch so Vicious has a reason to go back to Fuyu more.

Mhm, I think it would be good to get a second player on making the region too. We can waive the third player requirement since we're in a rush to get a rank D+ region.

Ideally I'd like to avoid the situation where it's basically only one person who makes the entire region.

So if you're able to find someone to help you take quests there, that would be a huge help! :blob_happy:
