A bit late but ya can do whatever you want with the guard training part. It was mainly made in mind for people who wanted to train their characters while trying to fall into line with the world established.I'm conflicted...
I want Liana to learn how to use the billhook at the barracks, but the quest for weapon training doesn't cover billhooks - which is a polearm - as a reward.
The closest would be lancemanship...but lances are completely different from billhooks...
*sigh*
I don't want to do the quest and then be failed because the weapon didn't fit with any of the rewards...
Do I just make it an ss instead, and focus on other quests in the meantime?

You can say the teacher was a adventurer recruited one. That creates an interesting dynamic between the adventurer recruited ones and the ones who have been there since the beginning. I'll shove the adventurer related reward near the end. (Honestly that was a dynamic that I haven't thought about. But, it sounds fun so I might just steal that idea you gave me if you don't mind.)
