Maybe it's just my gamer's pride talking, but I'd rather try everything I can before relying on a walkthrough because otherwise, I'd feel like I was cheating somehow. Also, I feel like if you rely on them too much(which I've done before), it sucks all the fun out of the game, but that's just me. What do you think?

I only watch them for games I won't play, or games I have already finished.

I think it's fine if you're stuck and want to move on, not every part of the game is perfectly balanced. And not everyone can play the game as well as you.

You're thinking about Let's Plays, not walkthroughs.
Let's Plays have commentary, and sometimes are not really focused on playing, more reacting and talking.
Walkthroughs have no commentary, they are made to help you walk-through.

No, I meant walkthroughs.

I use walkthroughs for Raid dungeons and things where failure isn't much of an option, as it'll affect other people.

When I'm solo, I try not to use a guide unless I'm 100%'ing a game or doing an Achievement Run where I'm trying to maximize the achievements I'm getting. I don't generally watch videos and only pull up the text walkthroughs. Most people doing video walkthroughs sound like mouth breathers that I'd take lunch money from.

Sometimes I like my game to feel like a game. I'll use strategies I haven't thought about to exploit the game's mechanics because it feels fun that way for me. I usually try to enjoy the story if it's there first. However stuff like roguelites or loose lore(dark souls-type) I just find a guide so I can get all the cool stuff and items. The boss guides are almost always useless to me because it's usually skill based anyway unless it's a gimmick fight.

I normally don't use it but I definitely use walkthroughs with jrpgs like the trails series.

it depends on how unnecessarily complicated and punishing the game is

also I keep fucking myself in jrpg by equipping +%hp items and forget to remove them, then my characters at max level are all missing 30%hp, then I just drop the game

far too many puzzles in rpgs and point and clicks etc are tedious and stupid.

very rarely will you feel smarter for solving it.

I see. I found it more fun if there's commentary. Even more if it's a funny and interesting person, seeing their reactions to games you already played is a lot of fun :)
If I look for let's plays it is usually someone that is chill like Squillakilla.

Isn't fucked up that now there's like a definitive class, equipment, attributes that you HAVE to follow if you don't want to be called an idiot by the community?

for single player game it doesn't really matter. Using weak class is increasing your game difficulty. Playing on hard mode is gigachad
