Your thoughts about SH?

I've joined like 2-3 weeks ago and I like it. The people here seem more open minded than RR for instance. I swear on that site people rated stories poorly without actually reading past the prologue. I just wished people were slightly more active. I'm eagerly awaiting to get my first review on sh. I'm also thrown off by the format on the site. I don't know why but I find the format slightly unpleasing to the eye. Makes me wish the site had a dark theme.

There is a dark theme. In the forums. It’s in the bottom left corner after you scroll down. In the main site you have to click on your username in the upper right corner.

There are people in my state who don’t wear masks when it’s mandated too. It’s one thing if you’re outside an establishment, but once inside the store and the store asks numerous times to wear it, but they still REFUsE to wear one.... then those people are being dicks. But that’s my two cents.

I like SH and SHF, of course the readers are silent and don’t comment—all that much *at least for me*. I still like posting the stuff that I have. It’s more or less a hobby.

however I have seen on a few readers that just “blacklist” or “no” the stories on their end. what’s the point of seeing a New reader on your page, only to find out they put it in a “Never Gonna Read This” folder on their page. It’s mildly sad.

Personally it took me awhile to get into SH. I shopped around for alternatives to Wattpad since I'm weary going back ever since it had security breach. SH had a very nice markdown editor with more markdown than other sites text editing for writing stories and SH's book cover image look more book-like instead of square ones some other sites use, so that's what pulled me in, plus site is free. Also signed up for RoyalRoad but haven't used it yet... Only thing that made me hesitant initially was SH Forum because some threads and posts I have the opposite views of their opinions and there is some toxic comments. But to avoid conflicts cause that can be draining + its the only other good writing site so far that I've tried, I try to ignore the bad ones and only respond to the ones that seem nice.
