The abstract idea of a yandere is arousing and exciting, but imagining my loved ones threatened by a violent yandere does not spark joy. I'm forced to pick the thugdere.
Same.... yandere is a lost cannon that might blow off in your head
I honestly wonder why people just don't desire a simple deredere or how it's called, under consent I could definetly understand why some would want such a grilfriend/boyfriend, but on the other hand it could be entertaining for some but definitely an absolute minority of people that like yandere belong to such a group. But still why not wish for a sweet relationship without any hardship? But I guess such simple love wouldn't be enough satisfying in most minds, that isn't even something against people with mental disorders.
Reminds me of that real life yandere in Japan and the dude that was so chill about it and if I remember correctly even wanted to give it a second try. I honestly wonder why more people simp over the yandere when such a person could be a option.
Deredere will kill you by too much love

I'm a teacher, see? Public high school, in the Philippines. This happened sometime around 2016 (or is it 2017?).

See, I'm one of those teachers who leaned on the side of 'popular' because I simply wanted to have a fun 'workday' with my students. I'd crack jokes, do some flip like an action star to get their attention, and listen to their problems whenever they need a friend (I also give them advice).

Now, I got two students who were unusually close to me. At the time, I ignored the signs, because I'm a teacher, and I look like an NTR villain. I'd always make fun of my fat figure. These girls would approach me every time they have the opportunity, giving gifts (plush toys, flowers, letters). Do take note, I receive items like these often, especially during Teachers' Month (September-October), so I ignored any romantic meanings to it. And I'm a teacher, again, and we can't get into relationships with students (by rule and by ethics).

Then, one time, one of the girls finally confessed to me. The other girl learned of the confession and she also did the same. I told them thanks, but the reality doesn't allow romantic relationships between a teacher and his/her students. I thought she (the second girl) understood.

After that, I began to notice she was slowly controlling me, blackmailing me (and threatening the other girl) that she'd hurt herself if she saw me talking to other girls, including my co-teachers and other students. It even got worse to a point where she dragged me into a secluded room to cry about her jealousy.

Oh yeah, just to protect myself, I told everything to my guidance counselor, who made the effort to talk to her.

And then, one time...just when I thought everything was settled, I received a message from her with nude images. She was a freaking minor, god damn it, and even if she isn't, I still respect my profession and my students. I quickly contacted our guidance because of it, and she left school sometime later.

So yeah, I was once a fan of yandies. After that, I can't help but remember that weird, creepy episode I went through.

Like what hans said, IRL yandie is creepy.

It's like Yandere Simulator cranked up to 11. Why? My brother in this godforsaken world, immersion is at its peak and you only had one life.

You somehow made all of our grandmas dangerous threats.

Yandere, on the other hand, will do anything for you...which a lot of peeps who have introverted tendencies find desirable coz they will come to you, instead of you coming to them.
Only an introvert that fears human contact would like such a character, someone who hates/doesn't care about human contact would see the women as another annoying extrovert.

Isn't Thugdere just 2010 Tsundere with overly exaggerated comedic writing

Yep, so I know (or at least partly aware) of what goes in the minds of such peeps. I only get to 'socialize' with people now that I'm a teacher, since it's a job that requires me to 'care'.
Know I'm somewhat interested and my condolences for having to be in the vicinity of humans as a job especially to teach them even, as respectful of a action as the long book you wrote.

Well, it's not like it's a problem for me. I admit getting nervous each time I face new people, even students, but I get to love my work because I can be 'unserious' about it. After all, students love a teacher who can play along with their jokes and pranks.

It also helps me in writing because I got endless supply of references, especially in characterization.

And yeah, teaching also gives me a sense and purpose in life, so I'm fine.

Himedere, Kuudere or Oldschool Tsundere (the one where she stays prickly instead of turning into a mushy deredere later on).

Thugdere might be at least a bit funny. Yandere is just a straight up murder hobo stalker with too much issues to therapy away.
