And what made you think so?.....is this entire thread AI?
And what made you think so?.....is this entire thread AI?
all of this sounds inhuman out the ass. "you're so right--it's such a cliche!" ??? holy lmao. out of anything else in this shit ass world, i don't want scribblehub falling to more ai slop. Thanks for the heads-up on the em-dashes! It’s wild how a punctuation mark can become a 'red flag,' but I totally see what you mean. I’ll be going through my current chapters to hunt those down and see if I can use more natural breaks instead. I’m glad you found the story 'fine' despite the one-sentence paragraphs—I’m definitely still trying to find that balance between mobile-friendly and 'big boy' prose!
You caught me laughing at the 'smell of ozone' comment. You’re so right—it’s such a cliché! In an ancient forest, things should smell like damp earth, crushed jasmine, or woodsmoke, not a malfunctioning printer.
I really appreciate the warning about readers going into 'sentry warden' mode. It’s a bit of a minefield, but I’d rather be told now so I can keep the 'industrial' feel out of my world. I'm going to work on making sure my descriptions stay grounded in reality, not 'clanker' templates. Thanks for the save!"
Challenge accepted! I hear you loud and clear—at the end of the day, all the prose-polishing in the world doesn't matter if the story doesn't move. I promise to keep the fire going so you don't have to worry about getting cold.
The 'Silent Temple' is coming up next, and I’m making sure it’s anything but boring. Thanks for keeping me on my toes!"

@OtherSlater see this? If @Macha isn't the first one who said that you write like AI, someone else will. This behavior is very common.you talk like chatgpt for one.
And this is the reason for that behavior. Some people cared for the site more than others.out of anything else in this shit ass world, i don't want scribblehub falling to more ai slop.
@OtherSlater sorry for that. I need to communicate my intent more clearly next time. I already apologized on that thread for being wrong and is okay if you rejected my apology. It happens. What happened after that is beyond my control. Unlike some SHF users, I don't have clairvoyance.@OtherSlater see this? What happened on this thread happened to another feedback thread today. A user is pointing out why they think the thread poster used AI. You know, average day on SHF.What's this about?
Welcome to the new normal. What happened on this thread happened to another feedback thread today. A user is pointing out why they think the thread poster used AI. You know, average day on SHF.
Ah yeah, when like half of the posts are AI written and try to pass it off as not? Yep. Hell on earth I say. What happened on this thread happened to another feedback thread today. A user is pointing out why they think the thread poster used AI. You know, average day on SHF.
The AI posts are giving us trust issues. This hurt human authors asking for real feedback. We really live in this Hell of a world called Earth.Ah yeah, when like half of the posts are AI written and try to pass it off as not? Yep. Hell on earth I say.
It's funny mr. OP hasn't responded to me yet. Because I will throw ad hominems at AI """writers""" every chance I get. Or are AI """writers""" incapable of knowing what an ad hominem is. Probably.
The last time something like that happened, it didn't went well. Ask @Alski for details.I have to agree... he probably writes these responses himself but is too ashamed or scared of making a mistake, thus posting it into GPT with a prompt like: "Please improve my response and make it seem natural and funny," or something.
I forgive you, it happens.@OtherSlater sorry for that. I need to communicate my intent more clearly next time. I have no way of knowing SHF users would react to your new thread by being rude on you because of a thread they made before which I don't know existed and is now being locked by the mods.
If anything I said offended you, that's fine. I'm the one at fault. My words tend to have that effect on people.
which is the crux of the issue. being afraid to make mistakes and being ashamed of it is fine. but own up to it. people will make fun of you, sure, but you'll be earnest and people can respect that. AI-ify it, and all respect goes out the window. we all start from somewhere. mtl'ing your own words to make it "better" just drives you into a hole.I have to agree... he probably writes these responses himself but is too ashamed or scared of making a mistake, thus posting it into GPT with a prompt like: "Please improve my response and make it seem natural and funny," or something.
You may now kiss the bride.I forgive you, it happens.
Rivals to Lovers omgYou may now kiss the bride.

Nah thats not exactly what i do, you might know how blazing fast people are to conclude something in this fast paced world, Not ashamed but yea scared, on losing the opportunity of getting actual response and criticism from experienced authors or readers if they judge me on my mistakes on this thread, or lose interest because of my absurd reponses. It's hard to find good criticism or appreciation. I want to know if i can write stories that people like, or would like to read, or everything is just a big waste of time thinking, concocting stories, scenarios, etc.I have to agree... he probably writes these responses himself but is too ashamed or scared of making a mistake, thus posting it into GPT with a prompt like: "Please improve my response and make it seem natural and funny," or something.
on god??? genuine question here: was AI used at all in this response. because good lord is it a night and day difference from the asinine output chatgpt gave you in this entire thread. you actually sound human! (as long as it didn't get a train run on it by mr. ram-stealer, and if it did and it sounded like this, fuck it, keep using it LMFAO).I haven’t responded yet because I wanted to make sure I addressed this with a clear head. (and i was working on fiverr to earn bread, so i didnt check the forum after my last response. i dont have a name here, so probably i dont get 2 notifications per week)
To be honest... I was afraid, this is my first time on scribblehub and my first time sharing my work. In the 'real world' people aren't always forgiving of mistakes and I was terrified that spelling or grammar errors would lead people to trash the story I’ve spent substantial time manually writing and rewriting and then correcting it using AI (if you read the thread replies i did write this out earlier) before they even gave the plot a chance.
Yes, I used AI to refine my responses and edit my prose because I wanted to give the best impression possible. I didn't want my struggle with English to get in the way of the story. But I'm realizing now that in trying to be 'perfect' I ended up sounding 'inhuman'
I’m a real person, I’m learning, and I’m trying to navigate a community that (rightfully) hates lazy slop. I’m not a bot-spammer; I’m a learning writer and a first time poster who used a tool because he was afraid of being trolled for his mistakes. Thank you for the blunt reality check. I would rather be judged for being a human with messy English than be mistaken for a machine
That's right. Not being perfect is what makes us human. Trying to be perfect just makes you sounds Phyrexian.I'm realizing now that in trying to be 'perfect' I ended up sounding 'inhuman'

Dude, you don't need to be discouraged... almost everyone has made mistakes or been accused of being wrong. However, what's important is how we try to understand each other without trying to get involved in a deeper mess.I’m a real person, I’m learning, and I’m trying to navigate a community that (rightfully) hates lazy slop. ?Dude
AI-detectors do that too. Are you saying AI-detectors are people too? They flagged my works written before AI >50% AI. They also flagged books written centuries ago as AI.Because my answers and responses were too neat, formal, and structured. People easily misunderstand and associate neatness with AI.
All is innocent until proven guilty. Please don't disappear like most people asking for feedback after it's given. Even if the feedback is stop using AI or AI-assistance and you happen to not use them. The point is, take it easy, don't take it personally. If you are accused of using AI or even being a bot, please correct the misunderstanding if you are innocent.
AIs are also capable of learning from their mistakes too. We are doomed (lol JK)Remember, humans are prone to error, but they are also capable of learning from their mistakes to become better, more humble, empathetic, and compassionate.
