Make a giant cliffhanger, ‘like the world has never saw’, and have the next 10 or so chapters be irrelevant flashbacks and essays, on things like the battle of Waterloo, before teasing the next chapter to resolve said cliffhanger. The trick is this is where you have your next post be just you complaining about how people are unfairly critical of your work, even if no one has said anything about it, and you are going on hiatus. Then your next post will be you going on some conspiracy tirade, and the next post will be you saying the people don’t deserve your work.

like, I get it if you want to say that it would spoiler the story if you put the correct tags, but if you did put them people who like that type of story wouldn't get their pitchforks

Worst thing I can do that is still in line with my main story is to have the main character succumb to Red Lyrium poisoning, go insane and then wipe out everyone and then watch as reality slowly implodes (with sad harmonica music playing in the background).

Buuut based on some of the responses I've had to people reading the story, I might not get a 1 star review for that. Just loses most of the readers because it's not a happy ending and ignores the other parts of the game plotline that I haven't gotten to yet.

staying in a hotel, with this male friend of MC, in america far away. He just wholesomely helped her buy a separate hotel room as she "teleported" on earth to try to find MC-husband and by coincidence he was there when she was clueless how to find MC. It was NOT ntr, but the vibes seemed NTR, bc of indoctrination of readers, by so many nowaday ntr doujins)

2) End your novel
with a "HEY ITS ALL A DREAM !"

3) Kill the lover/heroine
for bullshit reason

4) Rape the heroine

5) Being a dick to your readers, like a certain author of ex-number-1-popular "Slave harem" in scribblehub, that angrily replied to "typo-helpers" to shut up, and disdainfully spit on his commenters, that they are poor and not going to his own VIP website. (His comments of the drama were deleted)

6) Writing nationalism

7) Cockblocking (sex or simply an important info or confession)
for the nth the readers
Like : +99 stick manhwa, where the author rushed to do a apology-author-note-chapter, to explain stuff, bc she cockblocked for 3-4th time the readers about the mystery of "How the f the girl-heroine entered the ultra-secured apart of MC in a high-tech building for rich people"
Turning into a classic lesson example of : If you lose your reader (gamer) mentality, you lower your writer (game-making) skills

8) INVADING ALIENS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(its like the excellent Ubel Blatt manga, readers wanted the gruesome dark and satisfying revenge of 12 bad guys (and bonus smut), but somehow with the last few remaining targets, it turns into a big "save the world" bullshit, as they turn op-evil or demonized or something)
