I agree with Corty.
Besides, there are plenty of factors that identify some smol animals as insects. But of course, some things contradict those factors. Sad, I know.
Ok, except I said "Bug," and the other people are inserting the word "insect" into my mouth for some reason. You cannot change the words a person said in order to say therefore they are wrong.
Also, Corty has a huge vendetta against me for whatever reason, so you can't trust them on this one. Corty likes to randomly assert absolutely insane things, and I don't accept BS. So, they get fumming mad over it and start disagreeing with me just on principle, even when they are very obviously the one who's wrong on the subject.
@Corty I admit when I'm wrong. Key word, when I'm wrong. It happens quite often that I have to make such an admission. It just doesn't happen around you because you seriously do not seem to live in the world of reality. You live in the world of spiteful opposition and saying the opposite of whatever the other guy says, even when it's plainly obvious the opposite position is just way out in lala land.
EDIT: I decided to look up the definition. Turns out, yes, there is a scientific use of the term "bug." But there is also a colloquial use of the term. Just think back to when you were a kid and people called all little creepy crawlies "bugs." It was the general term people used.
Here's a link to the slang/colloquial term "bug" rather than the scientific term you'll find in the dictionary.
Top 38 Slang For Insect – Meaning & Usage
Insects may be small, but they have a big impact on our world. From buzzworthy bees to creepy crawly spiders, we encounter these critters all around us. Curious about the slang terms we use to
And true to my word, I will admit I was wrong for insisting it was NOT a scientific term. Because, it is. But it's also a colloquialism.
You will see in the very 1st definition of the colloquial "bug," it does typically refer to those that hold the characteristics of insects, the term "typically" also means not always. The very nature of a colloquial term means it's something that you can play fast and loose with the definition on and start making it encompass a lot of things that maybe other people wouldn't classify that way, and basically everyone has their own definition of the term.
