I know that every story has a premise, but I’m not asking about that.

I’m asking what is the main theme of your story? What ideas are you trying to explore and convey through your writing?

For my novel, I’m trying to explore different types of love, like familial love, platonic, and romantic, and how that love can sometimes be unhealthy.

What about your story?

That 'broken' doesn't have to mean 'worthless', that one doesn't have to destroy themselves to protect others, and that healing isn't always linear, is rarely pretty, and frequently leads to places that aren't where we wanted to go but needed to be.

Many of the most popular genres of pornography feature the transformation of a woman, whether by magic or pleasure so overwhelming they 'willingly' change. A mental or physical change brought on by another.

The general fantasy is the ability to make women love you with absolute devotion. This general idea can be seen in many fictions, animations, games etc...

But if you are a woman in this kind of setting where mind shattering sensation is everywhere. It's actually rather scary, if you aren't into it.

So my story is about a genderbent dude trying to avoid getting fricked crazy style by magical people and creatures. When you take on this pov, many smut concepts become horror stories...

What makes a Monster?

Is it the species that they are born as? Categorized and labeled by their physical features and instincts? Or is not what makes them who they are but what makes them different from other species? If a Monster has no desires to harm others, only to survive, find someone to love and protect their family, are they still inherently a Monster?

Main theme, huh? Well, it's an ideological clash between the two protagonists' philosophies. It's about dreams and goals; it's need, it's value, it's problems.
It's the clash between a negatively biased worldview and a positively biased worldview.

A few different things, but for the first major arc, it's mostly about handling grief, and forgiving yourself for your own actions.

Sure.
1. Self worth, selfishness and the thin line between them.
2. What does it mean to really see someone/can you really ever really know someone?
3. What matters? What does it mean to matter?
4. What is a role? Where does a mask end and a person begin?

My novel is about the constant defeats suffered by a heroine and how she searches for anything to cling to a glimmer of hope. Obviously, it contains a lot of mature content.

Holding on v.s. letting go

If you were an immortal, and your lover is a mortal who will reincarnate after death, would you want to turn them immortal with huge risks or let them follow their natural rhythm of life even if they won’t remember you at all, becoming a different person?

Indefinite waiting

Would you wait for your beloved to come back despite having no idea how long it will take? Despite not knowing if they’ll even return? A year? A decade? A century? An eternity?

How does an 83 year old man (now 84) act when transmigrated/isekai'd into different anime/novel/video game worlds with a failing body that looks to be middle-aged at best? How is he treated differently from the teenagers due to him being older? How he becomes frustrated with a body that keeps breaking down on him in the process of trying to be a hero? And soon, how to deal with being a father in some of these worlds while they are falling apart around him.

Post Apocalyptic Motherhood Dark Fantasy: What if the world chose to forget its saviour and its sins, while the saviour chose instead to protect her daughter’s innocence?

Power you don't want, while a transformation into a monster doesn't mean you become a monster in mind.
Characters are, mildly put, inconvenienced by receiving power that goes far above what humans can obtain. (And this should be repeated three times over)

My romantasy story is just tropey slop based off my own whimsical daydreams. lol

However, for my psych-horror apocalypse story, the main theme is self-delusion.

It’s about how people construct narratives to protect their self-image, how denial and humor can function as coping mechanisms and weapons, and how easily someone can frame themselves as a victim when there’s no one left to contradict them, not even themselves through steady mental decline. That horror doesn’t always have to be chaotic or loud. It can be neat, calm, pink, and very seemingly reasonable or casual.

That hope can be found even in hopeless situations. It is forged through unlikely alliances, trust built over time and people choosing to stand for each other, even when the world tells them it’s wrong.
