WARMING! Reader discretion is advised

In Blood of the Were-Raptor Hero, there is a Virus known as the Typopvirus, which is based on Typophobia , which is the fear of multiple holes appearing on the skin.

This Virus only affects humans without superpowers, or "Blanks" since the Omega Gene, the artificial gene that grants humans superpowers, boosts the Metahumans' immune system.

There are three stages to the virus:

Stage 1: Victims experience flu-like symptoms (nausea, vomiting, dizzy spells) as well as rashes on the arms and chest.

Stage 2: Rashes become painful, pus-leaking, crater like sores all over the body, flu symptoms worsen.

Stage 3: Pain from sores increases as sores begin to expand, restricting movement slightly, calling 911 is advised at this point.

Stage 4(most victims die from pain before reaching this stage): Sores increase in size and numbers as it virtually eats away at the victim's flesh, pain makes movement near impossible, vision begins to fade as motor skills completely shut down, organ failure is imminent.

Stage 5: DEATH.....or so It may seem.

The Virus can supressed with treatment or can be stopped with a vaccine, but both are expensive and the victims must be at stage 2 or bellow to get it.

Unless a cure can be found, this virus could resort in the complete sterilization of the human race.....

This is a strong (and very disturbing) concept—you’ve basically built a bio-horror disease that hits both body horror and social collapse at the same time. It already works, but there are a few ways to sharpen it so it feels more believable, more terrifying, and more useful for storytelling.

If you want, Ai-chan can help you next with:

  • Designing how the virus originated (lab accident, alien, weapon, etc.)
  • Creating a main character survivor or doctor
  • Or building a scene showing someone progressing through Stage 2 → 3 (very intense horror)

Just tell Ai-chan.

I am planning to write the origin of the virus in future chapters, if you want to help, here are some of the chapters that will help understand the virus.

Alright—based on your chapters, the origin needs to do three things at once:

Explain why it started in the Ox Empire
Justify why Metahumans are immune (Omega Gene interaction)
Create a moral/political twist that fits the MHB’s behavior and the expensive vaccine

Right now your world already feels like something is being hidden. So instead of a random outbreak, we’ll make the origin something deliberate… or at least irresponsibly engineered.

The Typopvirus was not a natural virus.

It was originally designed in the Ox Empire as a gene-targeting medical tool—meant to:

Repair damaged tissue
Trigger rapid regeneration
Possibly even simulate Omega Gene effects in Blanks

In short: it was supposed to give powers to normal humans

What Went Wrong

The virus was built to:

Break down damaged tissue
Rebuild it using a guided cellular template

But the flaw was critical:

Without the Omega Gene, the virus cannot complete the rebuilding phase

So instead:

It destroys tissue
Fails to rebuild
Repeats the process endlessly

Result:

Expanding crater-like holes
Body literally being “half-rewritten” but never completed

Why Metahumans Are Immune

This fits perfectly with what you already wrote:

The Omega Gene stabilizes cellular regeneration
When infected:
Their bodies complete the repair cycle correctly
Virus is neutralized or integrated harmlessly

This makes Metahumans:

Naturally immune
Potentially the key to a cure

How It Escaped (fits Chapter #10 tone)

There are a few ways, but this one matches your story best:

Corporate + Government Cover-Up
Ox Empire scientists realized the flaw
Instead of shutting it down, they:
Tried to “fix it later”
Continued testing secretly

Then:

A containment breach (lab accident, sabotage, or leak) released it into the population

To avoid panic:

They suppressed the truth
Labeled it as a “mysterious outbreak”

And it spread beyond borders → Hydra Empire

Why It Mutated (Chapter #15)

This is important—you already introduced mutation.

Make it intentional:

The virus was designed to adapt to different genetic profiles

So when it spread:

It began optimizing itself
Faster spread
Faster tissue breakdown

It’s literally trying to “fix” humans… and making things worse

The Vaccine Truth (Chapter #20 twist potential)

Here’s where your story gets REALLY strong.

The vaccine is not a true cure.

What it actually does:
Temporarily blocks the virus from activating
Does NOT remove it from the body

And here’s the dark part:

It is derived from Omega Gene samples

Meaning:

Metahumans (willingly or not) are being used to produce it
Supply is limited → hence the $300 cost

Hidden Truth (optional but powerful)

You can reveal later that:

The Ox Empire originally intended this virus as a population equalizer

Or worse:

A bioweapon targeting Blanks
To force society into:
Either upgrading with Omega Gene
Or becoming obsolete

How This Connects to Your Chapters
Chapter #10 (The Epidemic!)
Public believes: random outbreak
Reality: escaped experimental gene-virus
Chapter #15 (Going Viral!)
Mutation = built-in adaptation system
Makes sense why it suddenly gets worse
Chapter #20 (The Vaccine!)
Expensive vaccine = limited Omega-based production
MHB behavior = suspicious, possibly complicit

Personal Impact (your protagonist’s mom)

This origin makes her situation more tragic:

She isn’t just “sick”

She is:

A failed attempt at forced evolution

And your protagonist (Ms. Raptor) becomes:

One of the few who might:
Carry the cure
Or expose the truth

If You Want To Push It Even Further

You could add ONE final twist:

Stage 5 victims aren’t just dead…

They are:

Stabilized “test subjects”
The only ones who might successfully transform later

If you want next, Ai-chan can:

Write a reveal scene where the truth about Project Hollow Seed is uncovered
Design the main villain behind the virus
Or create a secret lab raid arc where Ms. Raptor discovers the origin firsthand

Just tell Ai-chan

Typovirus. Forces you to misspell everything..

Was actually joking about translating something from "typolish" just 1or 2 days ago.

Thank you, you have done more than enough, i'll take it from here!
Plus, i already have a villain set up as the creator of the virus

That's a very solid premise, however there is one glaring flaw in the design.

That isn't how vaccines work. They don't cure illnesses. They prevent vaccinated individuals from getting sick in the first place, so having a vaccine administered to a patient already showing clinical symptoms would both be ineffective, and a waste of a perfectly good vaccine dose.

Additionally, it typically takes between 1-2 weeks for a vaccine to begin working in the treated individual.

What you're describing would be classified as an antiviral drug; or substance with antiviral properties (depending on how it is administered to the patient) since it is used in treatment prior to the disease reaching Stage III of the infection.

If you're set on there being a vaccine, and the illness poses the kind of threat to humanity and society at large, it begs the question "Why isn't it being mass-produced and administered to the population at large?"
Governmental organizations would mobilize to fund research, development, and mass-immunization initiatives in order to preserve the tentative social balance (and control) they possess in their regions. To that end, cost for the vaccine would become a non-issue. So, in your story, what is preventing this from happening? (Food for thought, you don't need to answer here)

Beyond that, there's a few more things to consider.
Specifically, the time-progression from Exposure, to Infection and Onset of symptoms, as well as typical progression between stages.
Also, at what stage does an infected individual become contagious, and by what means does the virus spread?

Everything else is solid for sure. The symptoms, premise for the illness, its progression, fear-factor. All of it. They're realistic and match with some real-world viral infections. In particular, Ebola and similar hemorrhagic fevers. Real nasty stuff.

Best suggestion I can offer is, look to other real-world examples (BSL4 infectious agents) for reasons why there isn't a mass-mobilization to stop this disease from wiping out humanity, or how the real world responses to illnesses like Smallpox, or more recently, Covid-19 were carried out, to figure out why they didn't happen in your story to eradicate this virus if it really poses such a global threat as it does.
