@Slay was the one who really introduced me to the site. I think she grew inactive because she lied about her background and stuff or something like that - which is on the lesser end of the kind of stuff I see daily. That's the kind of 'community' I saw there.
And I liked this place much better than Chess.com, anyway. The community here is much nicer, and far closer to my personal interests than Chess.com.
Btw - I do think Chess.com is the best place online to learn Chess, but not the best for socializing. Nothing I can do about anything - I'll just stay here.

Today I learned that the French call wands baguettes.
So, if I was French and was asked about Harry Potter, I would say that Voldemort was on the quest to find the Elder Baguette, the strongest baguette in existence, but didn't know that it was the brother of Harry's baguette, and that was a major reason Voldemort lost to Harry Potter. Oh, and the baguettes choose their wizards/witches.

Nicotine was named after Jean Nicot. He gave away tobacco to every noble he wanted to have connections with, curing headache of Catherine de Medici, popularizing the tobacco. It's called nicotine of a reason, and that reason is Nicot.

If someone got pronouns in bio, its a bad sign.

That means they dont care of normality, dont care of other people views, and dont care of "you" as a human being but more like a NPC.
Also because they dont care, that means lower bottom line.
And lower bottom line, means shit can happens that you will very likely dont like.

tl;dr : They are like a protagonist of GTA game. Main character syndrome.
or they dumb. Which is worse.

I learned that in the 16th century the cost of mail was per sheet. So putting a letter in an envelope would double the cost.
Also, the original fire dept was pay-to-play.

A British guy had this idea that he could run a fire insurance business. If your house burned down then you'd get a pay out. However, he employed people that would put fires out. With the insurance policy the home owner would get a plaque on their home so that the firemen would know to put it out if it caught fire. Otherwise they'd just let it burn.
