What are the minor things that makes MC (any kind) hateable?

Indeed, though truth be told. Historically many of the religious sects in China and other Eastern countries acted exactly like that. They took over territories got paid in taxes, people and so on. Very much a headache for various Governments.
I mean, that is why no government would enjoy having an unaffiliated armed group within their territory.

Also the corruption within and outside of the court helps too. It is their bloody culture ffs.

I don't hate it, but seeing MCs being stupidly beautiful is just annoying.
MCs that randomly decides to spare an enemy/nemesis only for them to survive and fuck the MC over. Even worse if the MC is a murderhobo. It's just bad writing and a shitty way to introduce future conflict.
I am guilty of this. To be fair, my MC is just a teenage girl who hasn't killed anyone by that point and she later realizes it was the stupidest mistake she has made.

Hypocrisy, even if it's a minor case, my biggest turnoff. Truly, nothing is worse than a hypocritical mc. Mc can be an absolute ass, he can steal, murder, genocide and even rape, be the most evil one can be, and that would still be better than a hypocrite. Can't stand em, it means the person has no code, no principles, can't even be true to themselves, just a vile existence...

I don't know why but jack of all trades. It's annoying to everyone when an MC is able to do everything with ease but it seems like people really hate it when a main character has the ability to adapt to several new jobs, situations, or problems despite a clear realistic struggle to adapt being presented. To me, it feels like readers assume that if a character doesn't struggle with something to the same degree that the they would in such a situation, it feels unrealistic and somewhat mocking.
That depends a bit on the character. For a character to whom all this stuff is new, yes. For a character who has been there, done that, and is simply in the situation of needing to rebuild their strength/power, not so much. They already went through that struggle once before, most things should be easier for them this time.

Though some things should still be new and require work.

There is been a lot of hate about Chinese novels, are they really that bad?
No, Chinese webnovels are not any worse than what you find on scribblehub. Just multiply scribblehub by 10 000. And then only translate the smut and the stories with 2000+ chapters, most of which are shameless cash grabs and trash.
There are some great historical and slice of life novels you will never get to read, because they will never get translated. Not to mention, most of the translations you see are qidian novels. The good novels are not read by the masses of horny teenage boys either, they have a dedicated audience.

Same goes for Japanese webnovels. They only translate the most degenerate trash.

Sturgeon's law.

My gripe with hypocrisy is that authors tend to forget that they have to put it in writing what the values of their characters are. Rather than letting the audience simply assume.

There can be a father with children he loves. Actively wants another child after the former ones were raised with sickeningly sweet bright-eyed outlooks on life. Who does extensive charity with children and young adults. Tries to gather reforms in a city to improve the lives of orphans and poor children.

And the next moment, grabbing one from the ankles and using her body to beat [insert antagonist] to death. Forgetting to have made it clear that his aura of caring for children only extends to his own and those in his immediate care. Everyone else means nothing to him; even those by proxy with the reforms. All under a concept that the author forgot to mention: "what is mine is mine"

I hate the MC that doesn't become doting on the lolis. They are right there. Protect and pet.

I saw those stories, and I agree. It's kind of like the dense trope, but the edging isn't for him to get the girl, it is for him to get accepted. Ah, I just thought of worst combo. Never gets the girl because he is too dense, and he always gets his manuscript rejected.
Yes, I've had both at the same time among the manuscripts I've rejected. He also never cleans his apartment.

To be fair historical western countries had this issue too, but due to the cunning of sitting Roman Rulers (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Council_of_Nicaea) and the central consolidation of one Religion for all or else we will kill you early on.

It did not as blatantly cause as seemingly much problems for the various later Kings. However various Monasteries, Retreats, Bishoprics, Religious Knight Orders all had their "sect" moments in the western timeline. Most were very much tied into the local Government system even to owing fealty to higher secular lords. Even to like the Chinese counterparts, some Noble lineages had the concept of the Heir, the Spare and the Priest. The Heir learned to govern at home, the Spare went to the Military and the Priest went to the Church.

Also, Western Literature tends to use the <Sect Equivalents> differently in stories then Chinese novels do. As we had a major schisms caused over time by those fighting perceived corruption within the Church or by Kings taking the Church's power for themselves, as they were fighting against the Church's self granted power to anoint Rulers and approve dynastic marriages.

About the sect issue, to be fair to the "gangsters", the government was a nightmare. Look at the causes of the Yellow Turban Rebellion .
And if someone wants to look even deeper into the later legal system, I recommend the Brill translation, but here's some basic information in English.

Taking your chances with a sect wasn't too bad.

This was the break out anime for male oriented harem style anime and many followed its exact footprints since.

The first Anime I ever watched, and nearly all the other Male leads I have watched since were his brothers it seems. Also while his hair in that picture is brownish, it was dark blue/black for most of that series when I watched it. It was not until later in life I realized how abusive that series was, disguising all the abuse as "gags".
Oh and the Original Cheabol/Conglomerate/Rich Kid: Shutaro Mendo. Came from that anime.

It was such a downgrade from Starship Yamamoto though. Now there was an Epic anime (for the 70/80's).

Everything is a matter of opinion. For me: the Pointy chin, lobeless ears, semi spiky hair, hair coming down by the ears but they are not sideburns, little to no mouth when closed, snub nose. To me the others are just much better art, over decades of Polishing.

You might like that aspect of my story. At different points and to differing degrees, a thirteen-year-old fox girl witch and a fourteen-year-old orphan wolf girl come under the care and protection of the MCs. There's a lot of nuance missing, of course, spoilers and all, but both of their lives are improved by their time with the main characters.
