That dilemma aside, there are multiple ways you can handle this.
1. Following trends.
—> If you don’t want to do this, you’ll end up abandoning it. So, keep that in mind.
2. What you want to write.
If it is the second, it is very possible to do, but requires a lot of leg work.
Figure out these first.
—> Story.
—> Setting.
—> Beginning, Middle, End.
Afterwards, I’d advise to write it out beforehand. It is less stressful on you, and you can make a clear schedule.
Then be ready to do consistent posts.
Now, what carries this is your ability to write. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. You have to transition your thoughts into words.
And it doesn’t end there, the hardest part to do clearly. Is transitioning emotions into words.
You will learn this over time. I’d also advise to do a rewrite or two as well. Promote yourself, and most of all, be patient.
What I can offer is the base for this.
Plan out your stories.
Estimate how many chapters the story will be, you can always make additions or subtractions if necessary.

I have read all sides of the arguments. I have concluded everyone in this forum needs to get a life. Yes. That includes me as well.
It's really not surprising the biggest success story on these forums is a literal noname to the site even on an already small site to its small niche of web serials
