Vampire periods

I meant, where does the blood come from? Aren't vampires undead? So would a female vamp even have periods?

I think the author wouldn't make the vampire undead in their setting if they want the vampires to have normal reproduction.

I mean, yeah, by default vampires are undead, but... Their basic characteristics are

• Becomes a vampire by being bitten by a vampire.
• Needs to drink blood to survive.
• Is hurt by sunlight.

Nothing of this forces vampires to be undead by default, so it's totally acceptable to make vampires as just a strange race if your setting benefits from it.

I mean, you don't even need the whole package to be called a vampire, as shown by twilight and their sparkling vampires, or some mangas by their vampires that feed on any sort of liquid that contains lifeforce (like tears... Or saliva (obtained by kissing, of course)).

Sp yeah, the exact definition of vampire is broad enough, to the point you don't really need to make them undead.
