So, we saw in the Twilight series and the Hotel Transylvania(my auto correct changed it to transvaginal) that vampires can indeed have children through normal sexual means.


If so, how does periods work?

If you think they drink period blood, that's absolutely disgusting. Period blood is basically dirty blood, it's like other excrement that leaves the body. You aren't supposed to consume it. However, I can see poor vampires be desperate enough to do it? Like really really hungry ones? Still gross though

If what you said about them giving birth is true, then they'd also most likely have periods as well.

I'm thinking that vampires would multiply using biting and I once thought of intercourse but had the same question. How the hell does the great Aunt visit them? They shouldn't bleed (Probably) and they barely feel pain.

The serious answer is that it depends on how the vampires are written. For example, in Shiki vampires had their own special blood that enabled them superhuman strength, but it made them weak to the sun, affected their daytime metabolism, and had to be constantly fed by human red blood cells, else it would start degenerating on its own.

There are countless ways a clever writer can explain this shit.

Don’t know how it works in Hotel Transylvania, but in Twilight they were only able to reproduce sexually because the mother was still human when she got knocked up.

In one of my books, Stormstruck, Reapers (what they call their necromancer vampires) need to drink human blood, but they also still eat food and have normal bodily functions, including periods. Their own blood isn’t appetizing to them, though, so it’s just a normal period.

Also, I’m not gonna reply to the person who said it directly, but the concept of period blood being dirty is…just so weird. It’s literally just blood. Also, it makes an excellent fertilizer, just sayin.’

Well, it's blood plus lot of mucous, and the sourness of mucous doesn't go well with the metallic taste of blood unfortunately.

there can be cervical mucous involved, if it’s stringy and thick, but not always. And I dunno. Maybe that just adds a nice depth to the flavor. Then you have the chunks of uterine lining for some diversity of texture :P
