Unreleased work that I don't think I'll finish for a while.

Basically, I have a story that I don't think I'll finish but has 38,100 words and I've never released it. Should I release it? It's called "I was reborn as a demon lord but my morals contradict my title" or something like that. I'm open to suggestions on the name. The current name should explain the story.

Up to you, but I vow never to release anything unfinished again.
I just don't know if it's worth it. I wrote most of it over the course of a few days and don't have any desire to finish it. If anything, I would release it in hopes that someone else would finish it or that someone would berate me enough that I finish it.

I'd probably just keep it for a bit and let it stew. You may come back to it years later and make it into a hit once the idea is developed more or if you rewrite certain parts.

You don't know if you will feel that way after 15 years.
I didn't think I would survive my first 15 years, do you think I am prepared for another 15? Maybe I'll post the first chapter in the forums as a test to see.

You may not finish it, but you should keep it.

Who knows when it will be of use? For example, you can get the concepts and ideas from it whenever you're writing something else.

As for releasing it, don't. Not only it will affect your reputation as a 'serious' author, it'll also frustrate your readers.

Very true. I just don't want it to go to waste.

Well, if you don't want its ideas go to waste, you can apply those in your other stories.

Or future works.

For example, one of my novels (DECK) has concepts and ideas I cannibalized from my other, older works that won't see the light of the internet. Even characters, too.

Think of it as a 'warm-up' in your writing career.

You'd be surprised how many a good story is an amalgam of many failed stories over the years - they're ideas percolating in the author's head.

Funny thing is, I've noticed unfinished sketches and stories I did post, I easily forgot as if I managed to expel the idea from my mind but if I keep it in my ideas pile, I'm sure to look over it again.

If you like the premise, then why not put it out there with a note inspiring the readers to pick it up where you left off?

If you don’t like the premise, then best to forget the whole thing.
