Do disposable property destruction count like breaking your own sticks made from your garden?

Cardio. I believe in solitary jogging and getting a full eye's view of the local area a great way to grow an imagination too.
Sure it does. I've helped my brother (he did the tree chopping) by collecting all that fell to the lawn and we had to break those sticks up to fit them into the burn barrel. That's about the same as what LilTV suggested. :blob_wink:

I just do heavy breaths and I'm pretty much calm.

Or just play Doom Eternal Easy Mode for babies.

Or Be like me who tried to appease anger by trying Doom Eternal in the hardest difficulty available.

I miss being angry. It still happens quite often, but it tends to be rather cold and calculated. Honestly, it's way scarier that way. So my advice, don't just 'calm down.' Taking deep breaths and meditating and whatnot. That works, but you might end up with a really scary outlook. I spent a long time thinking about why I was angry, what made me angry, what things should make me angry. And then at some point that 'hotblooded' anger just vanished. Instead I could calmly look someone in the eye and consider whether murdering them was 'the right thing to do'. I've always got the answer no, so far. But the one time I don't is gonna be scary for a supposed pacifist like me.

Maybe it won't end that way for you, though. Go ahead and try meditation. :devilish:

Outside of that, you could try drawing bright, angry scenes, like fires or magic duels. You could write(not about torture or combat though, see scary above). You could turn whatever made you angry into a joke(anger tends to fade right away when you realize how stupid it is).

Exercise is a fine outlet, just remember that sports and games can make you even angrier when you lose. You could try doing those weird type of ASMR videos with slimes and glue and crumbling chalk. Or bubble wrap. It's a type of destruction as well, and calming for some people despite that.

Don't suppress your anger, it's not healthy
Tbf, that's a meaningless statement. Everyone hears it, nobody knows what it means. Offer an alternative.

Express your Anger!
Incite your Anger!
Support your Anger!

Depression! Can't feel anger when you're feeling bleak! JK

Anyways, think it'd depend on how you react, aka what triggers you. But for me, either games to take my mind off it, or do some sort of activity where I can vent, like gardening/lawn work--stabbing the shovel into the ground as if I'm using a knife, or cutting the grass weirdly and imagine it's their hair.

Why do you get angry? Ask yourself if you deserve to be angry. A worthless maggot doesn't need emotions like anger, you are not worthy to have it.

last time i was so angry, my internal organs start aching so i told myself: never let those scum doctors touch my hard-earned money

so I basically just lessen my expectations of the world to the barest minimum i could.

For some reasons, I pick up anger. Usually from sounds of something or people who are feeling irritable nearby sometimes.

But when it come to my own anger, I don't always do this on purpose but have a tendency to contain them so much. That my dream egos have either become 1) Zombie killers 2) Horror victims 3) Ghosts of horror 4) Horror idiots who started it.

I have at least three outlets for that emotions and it rarely fare well when it come to people's attentions: 1) Grinding or sharpening sticks (garden use) 2) Hammering rocks (Thunderstone) 3) Character's Demise Plotting 4) Drawing [This one always, always come out the most whenever I'm so distressed unconsciously or subconsciously] 4) Chatting with people on the net (Safe? option) 5) Biting something/someone.

Lessen my expectations of the world, dunit. The world is a scarier place now.

Games definitely, but they don't work long term. Filing your own fingernails with rock or making wood chips. Yay. Except I always end up thinking nothing at all when I do them, so it work just fine. But that alternative has been closed to me.

My method is to compartmentalize. It's not the same as suppression. It's a conscious decision to acknowledge your anger then put it away in the moment you are angry, to review at a later time when you are out of the situation. In the moment I am angry, I fully feel my anger, visualize it in it's entirety, emerse myself in it, acknowledge it, then pull it in. It's almost like hypnotizing yourself. After you can manage this, when you feel you can be rational, re-examine your anger and the reasons for it, then decide on the appropriate response that isn't something that would bring about destructive consequences to the things you want out of life. Most bad decisions made in anger are made by snap reactions made with little thought, or a continuous obsession over your anger that blinds you from your own personal goals and controls you.

Hm for anger, crafting or anything that is relaxing is best. *Sounds crazy, but it is.*

Also, remember that everyone is an individual. What works for you does not work for everyone.

Like doing stuff that doesn't trigger the manic episode. Such as drawing, writing, and cooking. Honesty, any type of craft can help. And be productive.

Exercising is good, but not ideal. The more agitated you get, the worse it will get, too. Some may say oh yeah, what about boxing I punch stuff and I feel better after? Hon, you are just beating a bag to oblivion. Are you actually working through your anger? Understanding it? No, you are not. Punching a bag will not make you less explosive. It just gives you an outlet to work it out. This means you will explode later again.

Compartmentalizing and suppressing anger is not the best way to go at it, too. Why? Well, the more you hold into it, the worse it gets. Again, we are not working through the anger. Just holding it back, which will make you snap eventually or hurl down depression.

So what is the best way to go about it? Well, therapy was denied, so that isn't a good way.

1. Journaling (This will help find the root cause of your anger.)
2. Have an unbiased listening ear. Someone who will listen and not judge you, even if you are at fault. Venting to either a book or a good friend is best, too. Don't go to a friend you will just make you explode or will fluff you up. Remember Unbiased is key! This is why therapy works, but it can be done by other means. *Don't have to go to the doc to do this.*
3. Identifying the reasons you explode is very important. For this, we need to get to the root cause. Is it because someone disagrees with you or something that someone did? Such and such.
4. Once identified, avoid those topics. If politics enrages you, maybe don't talk about it? This is an example. If it is a certain person, then don't interact with said person or minimize it. *Your health is more important than whoever they are.*
5. Find inner peace in the things you love and relax. This means, when you notice you are flaring up, take a step back and breathe.
(deep breathing, meditation, and other peaceful means are great ways to relax and come back to a conversation.)
6. Expressing it in a healthy manner. (Remove yourself from the situation and go do something else. Something relaxing, like writing or drawing.)
7. Remember, you don't always have to win. Sometimes, it is better to let the other person win. *This sounds silly, but sometimes the best way to calm anger is just to let the other person win. A fuck it scenario.*

After saying all this. What is most important is recognizing when you are about to explode and how to retreat. That is the best way to manage your anger. So, it is okay to leave a conversation unfinished to pick it up later. :blob_aww: So draw, write, and even craft to calm yourself and become a more relaxed person!

A couple things, you could take a breath and analyze the situation before acting (so even if your still angry you won’t act like a fool), as well as biteing the tip of your finger. When something makes you angry don’t act on those around you, if there are any, and think about the anger for a bit let wash over you a bit, then leave where you are to an unpopulated area. After doing that sit down and think about why you are angry. Most of the time when you get mad at small stuff, you will be able to laugh it off. If that happens, remember that humans have emotions, don’t get angry at yourself for that. If what you are angry about is something substantial to you, think about what you could have done in that situation.

I used to get angry when people I knew, did not believe me. When I was like 5-11, I was some what of a hypochondriac. When I grew out of that, people around me didn’t believe me when I was sick or in pain. There are genuine reasons to be angry, don’t worry. Most humans aren’t monks, who live life by erasing desires and emotions, and very few people should be. So, don’t bottle your anger, find a release. But, from experience, when you clear your head it is embarrassing when you get in shouting matches. So respect yourself and others when you are angry. Find an activity that allows you to ease and remove your anger without harming anyone or anything. Every one is different so what that may be is different. For me it was consuming media (books, anime, mana, YouTube, etc), until I was calm enough to think about why I was angry calmly. Then I would prepare myself for next time, what would I say etc.. So don’t worry, anger is something we all feel, often times it hurts, sometimes it does not. Do not think of it as something to be avoided, think about it like you would any other emotion.
