Pretty much. Marvel/Disney paid RDJ a metric boat ton of money to come and save their behinds after the other planned major villain turned out to be a real-life villain when he was convicted of spousal abuse.

Well, he did do that one cameo in Deadpool and Wolverine... not that it was a villain but probably got paid a bunch for that.

I honestly forgot about the Ezra Miller thing. I always assumed DC just danced around the issue, just like they did with Heard. Mind you, I don't look too much into DC anyway. I'm a Marvel nerd.
