I'll start with mine

I name a character "Meja"
Which translates as table in my language. Now i'm waiting the chance to use chair, door, and window.

I use random name generators. Unless there’s a specific reason for a person to have a certain name I don’t put much thought into it.

Sometimes I retcon a meaning if it fits their character but mostly I just assume their parents thought “yeah that’s a nice enough name”.

I often feel lazy about editing repetitive words in my chapters. I know using repetitive words slows down the pacing. But editing them takes extra effort.

I tend to use historical characters' names as dark allegories... for example I took the name of a Soviet dictator and changed the spelling of his name to reflect the villain's name.

I skip editing.

A few hours of writing, means a few hours of editing, and that's only if I'm correcting spelling or grammar mistakes.
Most times reading what I wrote turns into, i don't like the way i phrased that, or this could use more detail, or this is all wrong- I'll just redo this paragraph, which then turns into, but now this doesn't make sense, what did I write before? reference check! and etc etc etc of bull that my frazzled brain can't handle with each and every post. That's why you pay your editors the big moneys.. Editing sucks. Unless it's your passion, then you suck. jk. you're a godsend. but I don't want to do it, and I don't have money. So, no editing for me.

I write fanfiction. I do enough original stuff and take enough liberties that I might as well write a completely original story, but I like having a premade world to draw upon. It makes me feel more secure and requires less effort for me to keep track of things.

I'm terrible about adding little details to the story.

The first stories I ever made up were about a race of cosmic Water Angels, who serve as agents for an all-powerful water goddess. I think in my head would be worth an anthology of 25 of them.

Now I used some of their names for half of my MCs in the stories I actually published here (I mean, why not? If they were the best I could come up with for them then they'd serve well.).
Now the issue arises that my story Eldritch developed so that my outer god made contact with individuals of a certain group of water angels...
(What the heck am I gonna do about introducing their sisters?!)
(Did I mention that changing those names could raise the ire of a certain all-powerful water goddess?)

Also, I'm bad at character details and have a hard time doing greater rewrites if something doesn't work.

I think that I describe my characters as sighing, gasping, and huffing way too much.

But I often can't think of other dialogue descriptors, so I settle for everyone being incredibly out of breath...

Also, I've noticed that I default to hands for emotion a lot? "Their hands clenched," "They make a fist in anger," etc.
Idk what the deal with that is.

I nap or play games in-between editing. It's so soul crushingly tedious and boring for me, especially when having ADHD.
But at least when I do get around to editing, I usually finish a chapter within an hour.
