Memo from Lead Experimentor:

You generators only managed to submit 14 words, and I was only able to boost your submitted words from your messages to 18. The final two sent words will, most likely hinder your investigation. Of course this is an experiment, so I do not know for certain, but prior experiments have shown that words not submitted by generators hinders the experiment we are performing.

Before I give you the submitted words, I think it is best for you to reflect on your goals. 1. Are you keeping the test subject alive? 2. Have you figured out what your submitted words do?

Have you reflected? Good! Because I have a new goal for you, if you succeed this experiment may transform itself. What does the censored sentence from the first entry read? Here it is again if you have forgotten: ‘§§§§§§ §§§ §§§§ § §§ §§§§ §§§ GABD’OTH!’ As your hints, this sentence was written in English and you have enough info to start making educated guesses.

Now that that is out of the way here are your submitted words, followed by who submitted them and the amount each person submitted.

Submitted words: Brother, Hope, Defenestration, Trampoline, Suspicious, Skibidi, Six, Seven, Tides, Bovine, Spongiform, Encephalopathy, Repeat, Recall, Kill, Test, Subject, Survive, Remember, Crime.

These words were submitted by: @Anemic_Vampire 2, @Maelstrom556 6, @Racosharko 4, @Woolen_Monkey 1, @Hoshino 3, @JayMark 3, @Arkus86 2.

I believe that the results from your submitted words this time might confuse you. But, nevertheless, let’s proceed with the experiment.
…………………………………………….………………………………………………

Slowly and methodically, I heard a tapping at my window. I was still asleep.

Knight of the night, perhaps I can do as I read in those lucid dream posts.

Immediately I began to close my eyes and imagine myself flying.

But, I did not fly. The tapping on my window was still happening.

I carefully walked over, counting the taps. One, two, three, four five, …, 13.

Dreading what I would find I looked out my window.

I saw something strange jumping on a trampoline, tapping my window at the apex of each jump with its beak. When I saw it, it stopped jumping and lay on the trampoline, twitching. It was just twitching and shivering.

I heard a knock at my door. I carefully moved towards it. I peeked out the peephole, and saw Aiden. Of course I knew it was a dream, but I couldn’t help myself. I threw the door open. I was going to hug him, but my body wasn’t listening to me.

“You look scared, did something happen?” My brother asked, something else moved my mouth and throat as I responded.

“You're late, it is midnight ya know! You are lucky that mom and dad aren’t home, otherwise…” That thing responded in my voice.

“Looks like little Marren missed their brother.” He had a wistful smile. I knew what was happening. I had seen this scene a thousand times since. The smile on my brother’s face faded as he sat on the couch. The setting is different this time, usually it is at my parents place.

“Marren, I have something I need to tell you. You need to hear it from me before you hear it from someone else.” He carefully looked into my eyes. “Your brother is going to disappear for abit.” I was about to cry. “Don’t worry, don’t cry it will be okay. I will be coming back home before you know it, hold out a little hope for your brother won’t you.”

“Where are you going?” The thing asked. Of course I already knew, my brother will be killed. Found bobbing in the tides of the ocean a thousand miles from home. The police will say that they had no reasoning suspect crime or foul play.

Before my brother could answer I heard a shattering crack. This was different. My brother and I looked over to the window. Its head was poking in through the broken window. My brother rushed up and tried to push it out the window, the thing had left my body. I rushed to help him. It was twitching and mooing. It opened its beak, clamped it down on my brother and the two fell from the window.

My brother screamed something to me.

“Run! Marren run! Survive! You must survive!

I bolted out of my apartment not hesitating to listen to my brother. I heard the window begin to shake behind me. I ran down a flight of stairs, hopped on my bike and pedaled like I never had before.

Before I knew it I was at campus. Why was I here? I can’t remember, but I am not fully in control of this dream, so maybe there is something my mind wants here. I felt my consciousness fading as I began to wake up.

Something was tapping on my window.

This is the end of today’s experiment. You have approximately one day to submit your 20 words, and before the next update

I believe my speechifying has had unforeseen consequences. As such, I will be handing in my resignation as a generator. My last official contribution will be: Change, Da, World, My, Final, Message, Goodbye

(I'm also way too friggin' stupid to figure out the puzzle of what's actually going on, so good luck, ya'll!)

He is alive so far. No “Game Over” screen yet. :meowsip:
2. Have you figured out what your submitted words do?
I assume they affect the “dream”, and the given words physically manifest around the test subjects one way or another? Depending on the word, we can either harm or help the test subject(s). :blob_hmm_two:

Still confused about the sentence. I can only tell that each “§” is meant to be an English letter, together forming a proper sentence. :meowsip:)

On you first guess, you are close.
On your second, even if you can’t figure out the sentence you can make educated guesses on specific words. For example the sentence is in English, how many 1 letter words are there? I shouldn’t say more or else my mentor might accuse me of interfering with the experiment.

Memo from Lead Experimentor:

Before we start the experiment, I must commend you generators for submitting 29 words. I narrowed the submissions down to 20 words. I also saw that a generator announced their retirement, while I wish them well, I must say that the ‘puzzles’ here are not all that difficult. Hints are hidden everywhere. Nonetheless, if you did know the existence of such hints you might not even perceive of them.

So, as a hint for your third goal of deciphering the censored sentence, I will ask my apprentice to hide the first word of that sentence the same way that the word ‘Skibidi’ was hidden in the last update.

Below is the submitted words, who submitted the words and the amount each person submitted.

Submitted words: Change, World, Final, Message, Goodbye, Flashlight, Steamed, Lobster, Insomnia, Experiment, Escape, Pinstripes, Magnolia, Telekinesis, Cheese, Shark, Secret, Consumed, Children, Condemn.

These words were submitted by: @Anemic_Vampire 3, @Maelstrom556 5, @AliceMoonvale 3, @Racosharko 4, @Woolen_Monkey 1, @Hoshino 2, @JayMark 1, @Arkus86 1.

Now, let us resume the experiment.
………………………………………………………………………………………………

A persistent tapping noise filled my apartment. Did I actually awaken?

With that doubt I started towards the window and looked out it.

Apprehension filled my mind as I did so. There was nothing. The tapping ended.

Knowing what happened in my dream, I looked for a flashlight.

Escape! I must escape. That thought filled my mind. I found the flashlight.

Not wanting to leave it behind, I grabbed Aiden’s journal and my backpack before hurrying out of my apartment. The world around me, something in it had changed, I felt like my mind was steaming trying to find it. My mind was empty but chaotic. There was nothing I could grasp and I almost froze, but in that moment dream Aiden's final message echoed in my mind. I must survive.

I rushed out of the apartment building, hopped onto my bike, and just peddled until I couldn’t feel my legs. As the city passed by into empty fields I felt my mind cooling down. I checked my phone, I was about 15 minutes from the Magnolia Mobster, a themed rest stop around prohibition era culture. By the time I reached there, my walking was little more than a stumble. There on the door was a cartoon-esque mascot wearing a pinstripe suit and smoking a cigar.

The rest stop was apparently also a seafood restaurant and a speakeasy. I went to the restaurant half. The menu had many traditional seafood like lobster and oyster, but also had cheesy shark fin soup. I thought it was illegal to catch sharks for food? As I pulled out my phone the restaurant around me changed. The lights had gone out, and my mouth was filled with the smell of dust.

My phone and the faint starlight was all that illuminated the building, the building was rundown.

Everything looked like it had a layer of dust covering it. Xylophone-like chimes suddenly sounded. Perhaps my mind was fried by this point. Even though this was the moment I should escape, I felt paralyzed. Really didn’t I just experience something like this. I calmed down, at least as much as I could. My heart was pounding, but I slowly put one weary foot in front of the other. Exhausted as I was, I hopped back on my bike and headed back to town. Not realizing that the wheels on my bike were not touching the ground, I continued pedaling. The bike was floating in the air.

I fell for an hour before I heard an alarm going off. It was my hour before classes start alarm. I groggily got ready, and biked to school, I avoided my usual shortcut and had to dodge a bunch of children heading to school.

Once again I arrived ten minutes early and sat next to Henry. He had an electric kettle and a tea cup on his desk. I just looked at him with confusion.

“What? Oh the kettle! I just had an inexplicable craving for magnolia tea this morning, so I brought the kettle and some teabags with me.” He said.

I just covered my face with my hands and groaned.

Giving up I asked Henry if I was still asleep.

An awkward silence filled the room before he shook his head no.

Barely believing this I felt all of my drowsiness fading away.

During class I felt my mind restlessly wandering.

On my way home, I looked up the ‘Magnolia Mobster’.

There was no record of such a business.

Hesitant I looked up rest stops in the area and also saw nothing resembling the place I dreamed of. That night was long, but I couldn’t sleep. I spent my time reading and watching stuff. As the sun rose the next morning, I felt no need to sleep. Yet, my mind wandered to that phrase Gabd’oth, did it really cause me to grow tired the other night. I whispered it to myself once.

“Gabd’oth” The whispered word echoed through my apartment and I felt myself waking up.
