... Find a balance, hahaha. You are either cracked, or you are not writing at all. :blobrofl:
More like I’ve been distracted lately. Also, when it comes to writing I give myself deadlines so I force myself to write.

Reason I decided to never post a webnovel until I’ve finished it completely again is because of the need for consistent updates

I wonder how much yansusustories writes right now. Haven't heard of her for a long time, but I believe(I have no actual data, this is my assumption) she wrote the most out of all active SH forum users.

Oh, and here is a serious reply. I used to write 3-4k words a week when I was writing one story. Whenever I worked on other novels(unreleased) or simply practiced, my word count fluctuated a lot. I wrote 60k words in a week a couple of times, but usually it was around 20k.

I probably write anywhere from 1,000 to 50,000 words a week normally. Just had time off recently, so really maybe only 500. Of course NONE of this is writing stories . But you asked and did not specify only authors of stories.

When I was just drafting my main series, it was before I was posting anything, not editing anything and only working on one series… that averaged 50k words a wek, but the AI wrote about 50% of the words and made my own writing much faster. Basically never got stuck, “pantsed” it all the way. I also wasn’t working a full-time job during those weeks.

Now I’m editing and posting those chapters, plus working on side series. Some weeks I can’t do much except edit and post, mostly due to being busy with other things (full-time day job). Other weeks I’m drafting 6-10k words per week instead of per day, and the AI ratio is about 40% machine to 60% human.

My minimum for myself is 2k/day, so 14k/week minimum, but usually closer to 16-7k in practice.

Depends on the piece I'm writing. If I like what I'm writing, I can go 12k+ words average a week. Back when I was on crack (not literally), I can go above 80k.
On novels that I got bored of writing, I can only go up to 6k words per week, maybe less

Looking at my story thus far... dividing word count by number of weeks...

I'm averaging about 2400 words per week... it's not great... I could probably do more. :blob_blank:

Well, what I recommend when writing is having everything else that isn't related to the novel closed. If you have Spotify or YT music, that's a personal preference, but I like having distractions out of the reach of a single click. Else, it is easy to see a notification on something and say to yourself, "Five minutes won't hurt," or "I'll start again after watching this video."

It honestly happens to me more than I would like to.
when i do sprints i actually need that five minutes break to let my subconscious wander, else my plot would suffer
