Idk. My dad's playing it. He put in 4 and a half hours yesterday alone. He's not a giant Silent Hill fan, but he likes some of the ones that have come out in the last decade or so for later consoles. You know, the ones people bitch about. But, seeing as he isn't a giant Silent Hill fan, he doesn't approach these games with the mindset of one, so he just enjoys them for what they are I guess.
Just like me with Fallout 3. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Fallout 3. To me, it's better than New Vegas. I didn't play the older ones, you know, 1, 2, and Brotherhood. I COMPLETELY despised Fallout 4 and Fallout 76. I played New Vegas and all the DLC 4 times each, meanwhile I've played Fallout 3 and all the DLC 11+ times and counting. I say "11+" because I stopped counting after 11 playthroughs. I've played more than 11, but don't know exactly how many more.
To me, Fallout 3 is utter brilliance, but people who are major fans of the series as a whole, would hiss and spit at me for saying so. So, I don't approach the games as a major fan of the series as a whole. I don't pretend to know the lore in any meaningful way. Therefore, I'm sure I miss a lot of nuance and mistakes that would cause meltdowns for major fans. Much like my dad and Silent Hill.
He's a big horror game fan. So far, the only game he's played that pissed him off royally was Callisto Protocol. He spent two days on it (for a total of 10 hours of playtime) and noped it away.
