This is a really upsetting situation to be in, for sure. Just know that you are valued beyond your job, beyond any of this situation. It’s awful that that coworker is like that. I will say, I’ve seen the quote “good workers are carnaries in the coal mine. When the work environment goes downhill, they’re the first to go.”
:ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: I love that. Swear at that computer left and right! LOL! And yeah. I have been working there much longer. My guess is because A and B are roommates together, as well as lifelong best friends, they stuck together for the interview of their side of the story.
He's... mad you are doing your due diligence as a professional who ensures safety and customer satisfaction every time?
The sheer stupidity on your corporate overlords' display is... awe-inspiring.
It really feels like they aren't comprehending the results of their actions... I mean, really. They haven't looked into shit for your store and have zero understanding of how things work... at least for me, by firing me, they probably kept two, maybe even three workers. They actually benefit. But for you and the rest of the employees getting kicked out, I just don't see it. The benefits don't outweigh the disadvantages whatsoever for them.

U.S.A. 18-25. 3 years of work experience as a Seasonal Ride Operator and a field hand/clerk/janitor for greenhouses. Lost a Barista job. Prefer clear communication, upfront confrontation of issues, interacting with customers, lack of controlling people. Bit less than 1000 per mile I think? I get driven places, so car. Maaaybe bus if I put more effort into remembering the schedules. Somewhere between 300 and 400. Dream job is being a doctor or nurse. Dream hobby is writing.

Why these questions? Very sus my good boneless being.
I’m going to DM you about your career path, I think I might be able to help you out with formulating a plan since I’m on a very similar track myself. Same age range, NE USA, currently working my way up medical research.
Woops, I see you have DMs turned off- ping me when/if you would like any help planning forward.

Sorry to hear that happened.

Hell is other people after all. It sounds like he didn't vibe with you and was intentionally doing things to get on your nerves/cause friction. Unfortunately in such cases, unless documented and reported, if you let it get to you it ends up being you that will be left hanging by the employer/company/school as the one that caused a scene. Maybe B could stand up for you, but if they considered it 4 days chances are they already talked to both A and B about it. Making it most likely either B didn't stand up for you or they did, but the employer didn't care.

Best you can do now is get some clear feedback from your former employer, but not expect too much from them. If they considered it 4 days before making the determination they probably aren't going to turn around and change it, but getting the information can at least offer some closure and help going forward. If money isn't an immediate concern take some days to cool down and when you feel like the worst is over get back out there.

Hope it gets better soon.

I have never heard that phrase before. "Hell is other people." It's certainly an intriguing phrase. And yeah. I definitely should have documented and reported it, instead of absolutely blowing up.
Yeah. Money isn't an immediate concern. I have some breathing room for now.
Feedback is important for sure. Because I want to know exactly what got me expelled, and whether there was more to their consideration. Got quite a bit to learn before I move on.

Definitely can't take credit for that one. It's from a play called "No Exit" by Jean-Paul Sartre. It's about 3 damned souls in Hell whose punishment is simply being locked in a room together and nothing more.

At least one relief is that the money isn't an immediate concern so make sure to focus on your own mental wellbeing too rather than just on getting another job asap. I don't know you well enough to know if this is even a concern, but avoid using substances to escape having to go through your feelings.

I think he's trolling us with his rhetoric.

"Yes' to all the love I can physically give also include sex.
'No' to the sex itself because no sex outside marriage!
.
Then you can get married!
Edit: I’m not doing this in any mean spirited way. I am just amusing myself before I get to work.

Awesome advice, agree with all above except that women are valued just for existing. That makes it seem positive. For most of (recent) history, women were valued as objects, as goods to be traded or trophies to show the glory of society. Sure, they’re valued for existing, but only as existing such as the way a painting exists.
It isn't better. Just different. Look, lets face facts, being able to give birth is a perk men don't have. Men usually want children at some point in their lives. The problem is, those eggs have an expiration date. Once you hit 40 as a woman, you've kinda used up the free ride.

However, I would like to point out the many women who became millionares from Only fans.

Like it or not, that's something no man could pull off. Yeah, you could make SOME money, but the fact is that's not where your value is, in general. A woman is born with value, a man is not. Is that Good? Bad? I dunno. It is. It's universal. Pick a society and the ones that succeed basically have the same underlying truth. Men are expendable, women are not.

If you think I'm complaining about it, I'm not.

It is only recently that technolgy has advanced to the point that maybe the price of making a functional society isn't measured in corpses. Even then, society STILL depends on someone to be sacrificed now and again. Soliders to fight. Men to do risky jobs. Someone has to run into that burning building. Yes, women CAN do the same job, but not as effectively. Specialization is superior to generalization and that's just how it works.

You can deny it all you want, but 12,000 years has established the rules fairly well.

Now, you might THINK being a woman sucks, I think it just sucks over all.

I remember having a chat with a woman in Africa back when I was doing suicide prevention via internet. She told me about how she had been gang raped. In the conversation, it came up she had to go get the supplies in town because her husband would have been gang raped and MURDERED. At least they let a woman live.

So, being treated like an object lets you live, because she had VALUE beyond the immediate thrill.

This sort of responce reminds me of when Hilary Clinton talked about how women are most affected by war, because they have to morne the death of their husbands, fathers and sons.

EHHHHH... I'm sorry, but how is that worse than... BEING DEAD???

But that's how people think. And it's fine they think that way. They NEED TO. If we DON'T consider men expendable, society usually falls apart. Most people cannot deal with the fact that people die to make their life comfortable. So you either ignore the issue, or you have to dehumanize the ones you are expending. So you can either rail against the machine, and discover it ain't going to change, or just accept it the way it is and move on.

Honestly, never been a better time to be alive. Suicide rates and on-the-job fatalities are at an all-time low. But if you want to make me think women had it better/worse than men, I think you are falling for a trap. That's apples and oranges. Everybody's lives suck, it's sucked less for most in modern times. Men are "expendable". Women are easily replaced as they get older. Who has it worse? I dunno.

I don't think the question even matters.

I do, because it's a shitty computer in a shitty company. I had a small breakdown in between and now that cold I had before and couldn't get rid of hit me back full swing. And that's when I have two job interviews tomorrow, which is the only day I have a feasible chance to even take any, because I'm not free at any other day. I'm so pissed and stressed out, I really need a break.
Wow, wtf? Wouldn't the company know they live together and take B's words with a grain of salt, especially when you have been working there for much longer and didn't cause problems before? That seems so useless. Just be thankful they are no longer stealing your time.
And yeah, you are right about their benefits. The pay is shit, we don't get any incentives, the workload is sometimes overwhelming and sometimes non-existent, no consistent shift scheduling in a year at least, and yet, they believe they will find boatloads of good workers just standing around for them to take. Apparently they didn't get the memo.
The most ridiculous thing is that they are too cheap to install cameras. In a store that sells legal, licence free guns. And because there are no cameras, they can't check or prove who stole the shitty thermals. But then they rub their responsibilities onto us.
Then, a few days ago, making everything even worse, the regional manager complained to the coworker of mine that was sent to Berlin in order to help, saying that Dresden was "over-staffed" anyway. So there would be lay-offs, even though he JUST employed another guy? Then why did he do it? And no, we are not too many workers. Maybe if everyone is there, but then someone is sick, someone goes on vacation, someone is send to another store in a different city, etc. And suddenly we have 2 - 3 people left for two stores, 9 and 10 hours open respectively. And I would indeed be the first to go, even if I'm one of the only two long term employees, because he can't stand me.
Example given: you know your bug-standard shift scheduling template, with the left column stating date and day of the week and then there's columns with names on top and the hours to work each day underneath. My name was on the first column, because I was a trainee in the beginning and my schedule was special, so my trainer, who was lovely and did all of that planning until she left the company, as I didn't 'need' her anymore when my training ended. I was in the room when the new regional manager threw a tantrum why my name was "the first". Just a name on a table, that nobody cared about. He then put my name at the back end of the table, even the new hire was forced somewhere in between for no reason. That's so telling.

I don't know what happened to this thread while I wasn't around, but I gotta agree with you. That's exactly my thoughts on the matter. I don't tend to fight about it, but I would still stress those points.

Really hope that you can escape the source of the panic attacks as quickly as possible.
I would hope so... but who knows? My guess is that, ultimately, there is a good chance that A leaving would be the start of a domino effect they can't afford. B is super popular (for good reason. They are a pretty awesome person), and if they leave because A leaves, then I would leave and so would another coworker. And if there is that few staff, then everyone else will leave, and the kiosk will shut down. And being in the wrong myself as well in terms of my response is a cherry on top that makes for a good reason to give as termination.
That's so weird to me. I don't worked in a single business that has not installed cameras, because they are all suspicious of their employees, or at the very least, mildly paranoid of guests. Really surprises me, not going to lie.
Not going to lie, his obsession with ruining your store sounds like he just wants to screw you in particular... though I guess you shouldn't assume it is ascribed to malice what can be ascribed to stupidity.
THAT IS SO PETTY!!! WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK!!! His priorities are so fricked, I CANNOT believe it! That's insane!

Feeling a bit better yet? And ever hear back from the company regarding the feedback?
Feeling a lot better! Thanks for checking up on me! That's so SWEET! *heart button eyes*
Unfortunately, they did not have anything else. On the plus side, that means I have had less material to be angry about, which should lead to less stress in the end.
Still though... I would have appreciated more information.

Well for now enjoy the holidays and hopefully good things will happen after. Any plans for the holidays like spending it with friends or family?
