Well, that sucks, or it's potentially good. A job lost is opportunities gained.

Reminds me when I fired a Margrave along the border territories. He used that opportunity to try and stage a noble uprising with the radical factions. To make a long story short, he's dead now, but at least he had fun. It was very memorable for me as well. Even have a chalice with his name engraved as a keepsake in my vault.
Cool that he was able to stand out in your long memory, and take a position in your no-doubt-discerning vault.
And thanks. Needed that laugh.
Do you want sympathy or solutions?
I think I am just going to leave the job behind after getting a more thorough description for what got me fired. It was literally a sentence "For obscenities on the Sales Floor".
So I guess... whatever you feel like. Funnies, sympathies, criticisms, advice for improvement, solutions... whatever.

It's crazy to hear that you had a similar experience. It is really surprising when new individuals suddenly try to force their preferred work culture on you so aggressively. I can't believe she would try to overreach from her department to meddle with your own work.
Yeah. It's so anxiety-inducing when they are constantly forcing you to follow their exact commands as if they are flawless even when you've got it handled. A would say, while I am making food, to make sure I restock one section, then grind what we needed, and not to forget to sweep... etc. etc. etc. etc... and then ask me what goes into this and how to do it.

Holy shit. That's terrible! The suspense and tension must be building during the entire time, creating uncertainty that's even way worse than how long I found out to get terminated. And it was not even within your control at all. They seriously are bankrupting the store branch through stealing of pointless stuff? That's insane. Absolutely mad. And of course they are waiting to get the most money out of you before giving up. Heartless bastards.
Yeah, that's the thing. You did your job, and I know how smokers are, they need to leave for "a few minutes" at least once every one or two hours. I don't believe your ten minutes actually meant shit, and leaving you alone in the shop was just plain shitty. I don't know how an adult, who thinks himself so wise, can act so shortsighted and stupid. Especially the fact that they terminated you for what? Cursing? LOL, I mean, my boss probably never heard it, so it's fine, but I swear like a sailor. I just don't care anymore, have never truly cared, I would just stand there calling the computer a cunt if I feel like it. People just don't care or got used to it.
I mean, I see that there was more going on with you, but instead of helping, actually talking it out and finding some middle ground, they simply terminate you, who had been working there longer (as I have gathered) and that is frustrating.
I also feel like, when someone tells me to do something, I really don't want to do it anymore, even if I would have naturally done it either way, if they hadn't said a word? I don't know if that's just me, but my brain just starts to put up barriers when that happens, especially if I know they have no clue about the job anyway and just pretend. Remembering it made me rage all over again, even after all those years.

And yes, I'm also pissed off about the fact that I had nothing to do with the thieving pissweeds that did the damage, yet will likely take the full brunt of the recoil from it. But especially so because it's so useless. I mean, they paid for it, it's merchandise, even if they put it on sale and sold it for half the price in five years, it would still make at least something back, but now it's simply lost and I get it. But it's still so much more costly to re-staff an entire branch. In the end, every one of us has to be send into an exam, that will cost them. New employees cost a lot. And they know we're not at fault. Me and one other colleague have been working there for over 3 years and over 9 years respectively, never have we been involved in anything outrageous, and the other staff members are already far too new to be at fault here. Letting us go would make much more sense, maybe install some cameras while they're at it, but I'm not actually confident in that outcome.
Also reminds me of my current situation with my regional manager (who hates my guts for no reason). Aside from the theft, he just can't stand me. He always tries to find faults whenever he shows up, then says things like "You're too slow" and I'm like "How so?" With "Too slow" he actually means that I take too much time advising people on gun law infringements and liabilities. You know, the stuff I was schooled, tried and professionally certified to do by the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce. So, the stuff that I have a certificate for, which means if I don't do it and problems do crop up, I will be liable for as a standalone person, not the shop, since I'm a certified professional with all the responsibility on my own shoulders.
He means I'm taking to long when selling a gun, since it's not actually that important, though at the same time, if we didn't sign that paper which states that I have done my due diligence, giving legal advice and instructions, fullfilling my obligation to inform the customer of just that, we would also get an angry email from the boss. In other words, we have to sign the form for the obligation of instruction, but we kind of don't really need to instruct, that would go too far, I guess.
No matter how many people come into the shop, saying they go there because I'm so nice or how many people leave happy because I explained things well and lead them to what they actually needed, no matter how many well-meaning reviews drop in, some even with my name in it, this bitch will still find any fault he can make up out of thin air. I know I've stopped being motivated for a while now, letting a lot of things just sit around, instead of doing them as I used to, but he was the one who started this fight and I'm just fed up. Now I just wished I had quit a month ago, as I originally planned, but I was too busy with work... to look for a new job. How sad is that, in retrospect.

I recall when I was fired from my first job. I spent 4 years, 11 months, and 21 days working in that job and I thought it was the end of the world for me. That was 2013 and I was 23 at the time. Now I'm 33 and in retrospect, getting fired from that hellhole was the best thing that ever happened to me. Carry on! You'll find a better job with better people.

whatever.
Okay.

Few questions: What country are you in? Your general age range? The extent of work experience? Type of job lost? Preferred working conditions? Population density within 25 miles of you? What type of transportation do you have access to? Minimum monthly expenses? Important future plans? Dream Job? Dream Hobby?

:ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: I love that. Swear at that computer left and right! LOL! And yeah. I have been working there much longer. My guess is because A and B are roommates together, as well as lifelong best friends, they stuck together for the interview of their side of the story.
He's... mad you are doing your due diligence as a professional who ensures safety and customer satisfaction every time?
The sheer stupidity on your corporate overlords' display is... awe-inspiring.
It really feels like they aren't comprehending the results of their actions... I mean, really. They haven't looked into shit for your store and have zero understanding of how things work... at least for me, by firing me, they probably kept two, maybe even three workers. They actually benefit. But for you and the rest of the employees getting kicked out, I just don't see it. The benefits don't outweigh the disadvantages whatsoever for them.
Okay.

U.S.A. 18-25. 3 years of work experience as a Seasonal Ride Operator and a field hand/clerk/janitor for greenhouses. Lost a Barista job. Prefer clear communication, upfront confrontation of issues, interacting with customers, lack of controlling people. Bit less than 1000 per mile I think? I get driven places, so car. Maaaybe bus if I put more effort into remembering the schedules. Somewhere between 300 and 400. Dream job is being a doctor or nurse. Dream hobby is writing.

Why these questions? Very sus my good boneless being.

You just have to remember. Your co-workers are not your friends until you know they're trustworthy. Most co-workers are not trustworthy. Don't trust them. Look out for yourself, and look out for those who look out for you. Also, maybe look out for the new people, but not so much that you lose.

The key to work is identifying who you can trust and who you can't. If the work culture is bad, look for another job. Unfortunately the corporate socialists have made corporations too big to fail through government. Still, From what I can tell you're still just beginning. Lots of lessons to learn.

Truth. Something for me to keep in mind. Got to be more perceptive, and more careful about others. Thanks. And indeed. Got plenty to learn.

Why these questions?
Everyone is unique, but if you study enough people, eventually you notice people rhyme.

Your 10 Step Plan:

1. Don't commit crimes - It seems obvious, but I'm stating it so you don't miss the obvious. Breaking the law is a sure-fire way to screwed. The law is porous as hell, to begin with, so following the law is easy.

2. Finish High school - I'm assuming you have, but getting through HS or a GED is mandatory for success in the US.

3. Don't have sex until marriage - Nothing will torpedo your future success like a divorce or children with someone who won't. If there is someone you are interested in, make sure the body count is in the single digits, at least. If the other person isn't willing to allow you to meet their father, they are not marriage material.

4. Student Debt is a trap - In the US, nobody has to be poor. The only debt you have to pay is Child Support, Alimony, Taxes, and Student Loans. Everything else you can simply get rid of with bankruptcy. There used to be a time when Ch 7/11/13 ruined your reputation, but nobody cares anymore. Avoid student loans like the plague.

5. DEFERRED GRATIFICATION - Nothing will be a stronger indicator of your future potential than your ability to defer gratification for future returns. Learning how to put off your current happiness for future returns will be the number one skill you need to develop to become a success.

6. Exercise - As per the Deferred Gratification skill you should develop, exercising is also paramount to future success. Specifically, endurance. Strength is of little use in modern society. Being able to fight is a skill one should develop, but a passing familiarity is all one needs. ENDURANCE is the physical attribute that will serve you the most in today's world. To that end, either choose to use a bicycle (I recommend) or go jogging. FOR. MILES. We're talking able to run a marathon or bike twice as far that's 26 miles, or 52 miles biking. Your goal is to be able to do that at least once. So start jogging until you reach the goal, at least once.

Why?

Learning how to run until you puke is a skill everyone needs. Knowing that you can bash your head against a wall until the wall breaks is the sort of confidence boost that will allow you to deal with anything. Yeah, this guy is pissing me off, but it isn't as hard as running 26 miles and feeling agony for the next four days while my legs heal. What you will need to do to be able to run 26 miles is exactly what you need to learn to be a success in life. You pull that off, trust me, nothing else will be as hard.

PLUS, it's really simple. There's no trick to it. If you have functional legs, you can do this. You could have the IQ of a rock and still do this. The sense of accomplishment when you finally pull it off will make your life so much better.

7. Pick a career, then plan for it. - I recommend against Doctor, or anything that requires a college degree. A two-year college will give you a useful degree for a specific career and you'll most likely make more money. The Medical field is increasingly being turned into socialism and the medical field becomes a HELLSCAPE every time. I could explain why, but as a field to go into, I recommend against it.

If you still want to become a doctor, Talk To Your DOCTOR. Ask him EXACTLY what he had to do to get where he is. Make notes for what milestones you have to pull off, Then be prepared to MOVE, because most states suck for being a doctor, so if you become one, 70% chance you are in the wrong state and will have to move to be a success.

Otherwise, pick a job that you could do, could reasonably learn, and one that has a high average salary. DO NOT PICK A JOB BECAUSE YOU DREAM ABOUT IT. Pick a job where you make money, but can also sleep at night. SLEEPING AT NIGHT IS IMPORTANT. I had a job where I made Mad Money, and could not stand myself. This rules out most jobs involving sex/Only Fans. The best careers that make the most money are ones where the end path involves you working for yourself.

8. YOU CAN'T DO IT - I know people will tell you that you can do whatever you set your mind to. THEY LIED. You have LIMITS. everyone does. There are things you cannot do. The Fool Knows What He Can Do. The Wiseman Knows What He Cannot.

The wise man knows his limits. You need to know your limits. Reaching beyond your limits not only sucks, but it creates a sense of failure that results in emotional talespins of self-destructive. Push yourself to the limit, and LEARN YOUR LIMITS, then set a goal INSIDE THOSE LIMITS. Yes, it sucks to be realistic, but being unrealistic is a path to failure.

9. YOU CAN HAVE ANY HOBBY YOU WANT - Hobbies are what you have AFTER you make enough money to afford them. Have your hobby. Whatever it is. Make that money at a job you can do and don't enjoy for money to spend on whatever you want.

10. It's not what you know, it's WHO you know - The number one mistake a student makes when they go for higher education is getting Perfect grades. Nobody cares. What you SHOULD be doing is getting "good" grades and sucking up to the professor, asking them who they know who could get you a job after you graduate. The teacher is the one who can connect you with someone to give you a job. Suck up to them. Also, suck up to your fellow students who suck up to the professor. They are the type to go places.

As for your immediate need for a job.

Go on Google. Search for collection Agencies in your local area. Go get a job. Work at least 3 months. Even if you suck, you'll last 3 months. Why? Everyone should work as a bill collector for 3 months. It will teach you more about money than you will ever learn anywhere else. And I promise you... you are near a collection agency. It's a rough job, but if you can pull it off, you only need an HS education and a willingness to be verbally abused. It's a humbling and telling experience that will tell you just how fucked the economy is.

Also, I'm assuming you are male.

You are already in the hole.

Men are human DOINGS, not human BEINGS. women are human beings. society values a woman just for EXISTING. You do not matter. Nobody cares about you. You are only worth what you do. If you aren't doing anything, WHAT GOOD ARE YOU? 80% of homeless people are male, BECAUSE NOBODY CARES ABOUT MEN. Society is built on the bodies of men who do horrible jobs.

Deal with it.

Once you accept this, it is liberating. Because no matter how much of an asshole you are, there is a place for you if you are productive. You are valued for your production, wealth, and power, not because of who you are or what you look like. A woman peaks at 23, a man at 50. Accept that you are only as good as the last thing you did, and you will find the world will open up to you.

yes, we write off 5% of the population, and another 15% waver on that line that society keeps around just because they might recover enough to be of use, but for the remaining 80%, life is sweet. If you plan now, work hard now, DEFER GRATIFICATION, and build up your stamina for dealing with BULLSHIT, you will be in the top 20% of society, No really. You will be a success in life.

Alas, as a male today, I suspect you have not had a rite of passage. We used to do this, but America has stopped doing it. A rite of passage for a male was when they became a man. If you look at any traditional one, they always involve feats of great stamina. The sweat lodge, drinking 21 shots of beer, getting in a fight, killing a bear, surviving in the wilderness, a marathon party. WHATEVER it involved STAMINA and ENDURANCE. Why?

Because society values a man who can survive.

Humanity is a species that has always hunted prey by running them until they were exhausted, then went in for the kill. You simply outlast your enemies.

Maybe you have the problem that you don't feel like a man.

It's understandable. Society is so directionless these days. That is the other reason for you learning to run a marathon or bike 52 miles. That's your rite of passage. You pull that off, you're a man. Nothing society could throw at you will stop you if you can pull that off. it might seem stupid, but trust me, the mindset you need to pull that off, is everything you need to be a success in life.

And that's my solution/advice.

What is the joke? Or is it simple sardism?
But mono I thought you were a masochist!
You finally stepped up your game.
I think it's funny that you don't care. The act of not caring about the shit I go through is hilarious. I'm honestly... not sure why I find an absence of care to be funny.
I don't think it's sadism... or is it?

Sorry to hear that happened.

Hell is other people after all. It sounds like he didn't vibe with you and was intentionally doing things to get on your nerves/cause friction. Unfortunately in such cases, unless documented and reported, if you let it get to you it ends up being you that will be left hanging by the employer/company/school as the one that caused a scene. Maybe B could stand up for you, but if they considered it 4 days chances are they already talked to both A and B about it. Making it most likely either B didn't stand up for you or they did, but the employer didn't care.

Best you can do now is get some clear feedback from your former employer, but not expect too much from them. If they considered it 4 days before making the determination they probably aren't going to turn around and change it, but getting the information can at least offer some closure and help going forward. If money isn't an immediate concern take some days to cool down and when you feel like the worst is over get back out there.

Hope it gets better soon.

Especially when A completely tells me to just shut up and deal with it.
Yeah, I would have been the devil on your shoulders, telling you to break that broom over that bastard's head. No, I am not a saint. Fuck them and fuck them again.

I understand that people can be frustrated with co-workers, but being petty about it is not how to fix it. I am sorry that it happened to you, Pupper, and I hope things will get better from here on out. Whenever you get a new job, it will be better than this one.

Stay strong.

Shit sucks, hope you feel better soon. Also I hope you figure out your medication situation.

Here's a work rant that's more funny then sad, then a silly story that made me sad.

I used to work as a butcher at a fancy market.
There was one coworker who was a total A grade douche, like he'd swear at other workers, show up late, go for smoke breaks then never come back and never tried to learn the job.
Of course he got fired real quick, but he decided to take his severance package into his own hands.
We were a really fancy butcher, like dry aged wagu beef, $30 grass fed chicken kind of fancy. At any time we might have something like $3000 worth of raw meat.
What does douche do? He breaks into the market in the middle of the night, apparently ignorant of the security cameras. He breaks the butcher's shutter and loads up all the meat he can carry. Some of our meat was like $150 a kilogram, and his sticky mitts takes everything he can. Then every meat he can't take he ruins, throws on floor and unplugs fridges.
Next day, he gets arrested, because of course he would.
The fancy meat is reclaimed by cops a few days later, but what can we do? It's raw meat that's been out of the fridge, by Australian law we can't sell it.
Dude ruined like thousands of dollars worth of meat, for like no reason. He didnt even get to eat any. Why did he risk it all? for meat?
I thought it was silly anyway. Everyone got tons of free meat though, so overall a good experience.

This one's more recent, but I often work on a sweet potato farm. I do a bunch of shit with tractors and irrigation and stuff but my main job is quality assurance.
We had one middle aged lady, which is unusual in itself, her job was to sort the smallest potatoes. A machine grades by size, she checks each potato on a conveyor line and then she's meant to chuck out the bad ones and put the good ones in a tray. Then I double check her work quickly then dump the tray into a half ton bin to sell.
Due to the nature of agricultural work, we go through workers quickly, so I've checked the work of a lot of different people.this lady really sucked at the job, one of worst, she let through potatoes with bug bites, nematode damage, rotten ends and green ones, awful.
So of course I start going through her bin chucking out the unsellable ones. Lady does not like this, everytime I come to check she starts swearing at me, tells me people need to be less fussy. It gets bad enough I just give up, the supermarket might complain but ultimately a few subpar potatoes isn't worth my mental health.
I decide to tell the boss, but he's on an errand and won't be back for a while.
The problem is the bins of course have no lids, and while boss generally trusts me to do my job, he'll still sometimes check the bins just to check the quality of harvest and make sure I'm not slacking. But right now I am slacking because of lady, bad potatoes in bin.
I have my own mental issues, anxiety being one of them. The combined stress of swearing lady, and knowing boss will soon come back and discover I've let a whole bin fill with bad potatoes is too much.
I'm a grown ass man so it's a little embarrassing to admit I was almost in tears over potatoes.
The anxiety of waiting around to get in trouble is really bad.
Boss comes back, I explain myself. He's a good boss so he thinks it's funny more than anything, and it really is just one bin of bad potatoes, so he tells lady to let me do my job and then life goes on.
Lady kept working there, she adjusted and last time I worked there we got on well. So happy ending at least.

Awesome advice, agree with all above except that women are valued just for existing. That makes it seem positive. For most of (recent) history, women were valued as objects, as goods to be traded or trophies to show the glory of society. Sure, they’re valued for existing, but only as existing such as the way a painting exists.

Isn't everything a object?
Some are just more complex then others.
We have an emotional connection to some.
That's all.
