So... I had a thought. I'm trying to create an alternate life for the reader. I'm not creating a story. I'm creating THEIR Isekai experience as another person in another world! Its kind of fun to think this way. I'm giving them another life.
So because of that, I'm trying to capture their life and a chapter is their experiences...
Because of this, I can focus on some parts more than others. And other parts of the day can be summarized. Like I can say...
~6 AM Main character had sex with wife in the shower.
~6:40 AM got dressed.
~7:15 went to work.
Then have the real action in the chapter. The real chapter will be there. The other parts are just there to help the reader feel like they are experiencing a real life in the other world.
But here's where my question is; OK, by the above lines. The reader will read, OK he had sex with his wife in the shower before going to work. But its SUMMARIZED and not descriptive. (Some will be dismayed reading this LOL). OK< but my question is, because its summarized does that mean it has to have 18+ warnings now? Is it not readable by minors now? I don't have a steamy romance scene there. In fact its kind of like when you watch a movie and a couple runs into the bedroom and shuts the door, and then you hear them jump on the bed. But you only see a closed door and scene changes to the next morning.
But it remains a question, OK is this actually still going to require the 18+, the ecchi, the mature, the adult tags now? And are people going to be able to read it who are minors if all the adult scenes are written this way?
This could affect how a book is labeled and marketed. Also it might invite more family friendly options to people and good stories.
I hope to hear what you think? I'm also very interested in this. (But it doesn't mean every scene has to be summarized. You can still write it up how you like.) And I'm hoping to ask this to be able to reach more people, and be more family friendly. And part of this is... when you read a book you want that other Isekai life. That experience. It means...when you read a steamy romance scene, its not always the sex you want. Its the romance, that hope for the other person to want you and be with you. When people read steamy scenes, they think they want the Sex. But actually many of them just want the companionship and loyalty.
